Jono we are in the middle of a large sunday feild so depending on the weather and scores I think it will be blue, blue, unless we smash the course Saturday.

Plus we don't want to extend sunday out to long for people who have to travel.

    It's already been decided, blue/blue.

Don't worry about the size of the field. Every Sunday is full of green fee players who take 5 hours.

It's a championship isn't it? Forward tees both days would diminish it.

No its about socialising and having fun, and as far as I'm aware it's been decided blue/blue. If that's rubbery then everything else is, like groups for example.

Some of us can hit off blue, and others can hit off the blacks. FFS, we're not playing for sheep stations.

That's why it is called the OZgolf Champs and not the OZgolf Piss Up.

I'm starting to think that people are forgetting what the whole idea of the OzGolf Champs was mean't to be.

As just has said earlier, it's more about the fun side of things .... meeting new OzGolfers and having a bit of fun more than anything.

Reading a bit of the Champs threads and it seems to me this whole thing is becoming a bit of a monster !!

    just my 2 bob.

Spot on Mark, all this debate about DMD's, what tees should be used etc... are becoming a real bore.

Some people enjoy competition. Some people love to get on the soup. Some people like both.

Any comp with adhoc rules is a recipe for disaster.

Are you saying theres no competition if you hit off the blues?

Anyway it's supposed to fun, some of you are losing perspective.

I'm saying that the black tees are a bigger test. The Champ should win on merit, not because they can get away with more from forward tees.

Both. I think the blues are more fun, but they also let you get away with more from the tee.

And the mayor announced from Thursday on should not be shat into the creek anymore, because on Saturday beer is brewed.

Which tees do the ladies switch to on Sunday? Or will their scores be adjusted with the men's respective change of ACR?

I only hit driver 4 or 5 times off the blues. Off the blacks it would be more like ten. Holes like 9 & 18 are totally different beasts.

Good point. Shazza's 28 points should be adjusted to 26.

I agree with SMS. The black tees are a better test and give the lower handicap golfers a bigger advantage, those who want blue tees are just saying so cos it benefits themselves.

I can't see any reason not to play off the black tees on sunday tbh. Just because you play from the tips doesn't mean you can't have a good time does it? And if the idea is not to be "too serious" what's wrong with hitting from the black tees anyway??

Not sure it matters where you tee off from.. If 'everyone' had preference to play from the blues, then fair enough. Quite obviously that is not the case, and thus see no reason not to vary the tees to accommodate those in the group that prefer to play from the back.

The game can be enjoyable regardless of how long the course is, not sure why this decision constantly brings such fierce debate.

Last year was actually kind of fun on Sunday in a sadistic kind of way.
