OZgolf Champs Weather Forecast
G'day OZgolfers,
I thought I'd pop in with some early good news. The forecast, at this stage, for the Sunshine Coast on champs weekend is partly cloudy and 25 degrees each day.
It won't belt down like last year.
Have a great time,
Dick Whitaker

It's not like you can't do that into the wind.

At least with a tailwind you can get it over the water.

I don't mind getting a bit wet but the thing I hate is slippery grips. Can't hold on and therefore difficult to make a decent swing. Pros have their caddies to help them keep their gloves and grips dry ... we don't have that luxury.
I bought a Footjoy wet weather glove. I don't know how well it will work though.

The carts have hoods over the bags Jono. Your clubs shouldn't get too wet at all.

I have gear for cold and wet - not sure how suitable it will be for warm and wet.

We had a good run during the drought but the reality is that Oct/Nov is the start of the wet season.

Is there any reason why we can't have the Champs a little earlier in the year to try and avoid the storm season?

"Thunderstorms on Thursday will become more widespread as a trough heads inland followed by a similar set-up on Friday and Saturday with very humid north-easterly winds and thunderstorms across most of the state,'' he continues.
"From Thursday onwards the thunderstorms have the potential to become extremely dangerous over Queensland and may generate damaging winds, flash flooding and large hail.''
"It is possible small parts of the south-east quarter of Queensland will see around 100mm.''
The Gold Coast forecast is most severe for Friday and Saturday before the weather is expected to clear on Sunday. Showers are expected to return on Monday.

Great time for Champs then, eh?
WA is superb at this time of the year. October is sensational...low to mid 20's, sunny, easy on the winds, greens coming back from coring and rolling superb.
See where I'm going with this?

If there is a delayed start because of the weather the later groups on the Saturday might not finish before dark, what's the contingency?
