Congratulations Kpac.
Wranger win again
Well done kpac.
it's been a long time ago. kpac, please correct me where I've stuffed up.
10 - BW's 2 putt par beats kpac's bogey. BW 1 up
11 - Both missed the green and scrambled bogeys. Hole halved.
12 - kpac scrambled a good par, while BW missed a short putt to lose the hole. Square.
13 - BW conceded after dunking 2 balls. kpac - 1 up
14 - kpac again made a cunning par. BW almost slam dunked his tee shot and parred. Halved.
15 - BW made the green in 2 and 3 putted but kpac went long and left. His scrambling wasn't quite enough to halve the hole and the game is square again.
16 - Hate this hole! kpac managed this hole far better and goes 1 up.
17 - The quality of the game is continuing to dive - BW's triple bogey = kpacs double. Hole halved! Only shot BW got for the round, so didn't make the most of it.
18 - BW's 6 > kpac's 8. Square at the turn.
Think we were 13 points(kpac) and 11 points (BW) respectively at the turn. You just can't deny quality! Surely this has to improve?!
1 - BW gets a BIRDIE, kpac doesn't. BW 1 up.
2 - both of us bogey - kpac made a good up & down out of the right hand bunker. Hole halved.
3 - BW pars the par 5, but who can argue with kpac's first ever EAGLE!!!!!! All square.
4 - BW gets up and down out of the back bunker for 3. kpac just misses the par putt. BW 1 up again.
5 - Solid bogeys for both players. Hole halved but BW missed a very gettable putt.
6 - kpac drains a crucial 6m par putt. Take that BW. BW just misses the equalising putt. All square.
7 - kpac safely away, BW finds the right hand bunker and takes 2 to get out. From there kpac's steadiness brings him the hole. kpac 1 up with 2 to play.
8 - Choke fest. bunkers found, and found again, and again, and again, and again. When the dust finally settles I think kpac's 8 beat BW's 10! The 2/1 winner and the 2011 Qld matchplay champion - kpac!
9 - with the pressure off both kpac and BW launch it!
kpac was great company for the round and it was fantastic playing him in match play. A most worthy winner and a quality bloke. Can understand why he went low on Sunday.

Well done on making the final, Westy.
Congratulations again on your matchplay win, kpac. I wish I could have seen it firsthand.
Well done kpac, bad luck Westy.
Thanks all. And in-particular thanks Mark. The final was good fun and the golf was pretty close. Westy is a very consistent player, which made the game pretty tough as consistency is not my strength.
The match was very tight the whole way. only ever 1up either way until the death.
In the 8th (our 17th) i was 1 up with 2 to go, and thought i should just keep the pressure on by getting it out on the fairway and avoid that big bunker on the left... then reconsidered when i figured i could knock one over the right edge of the bunker. As it turns out i knocked it straight in the bunker and scrapped at 8. Westy would have taken that opportunity on every other hole on the day, but i was very fortunate the matchplay pressure came to a head, and my 8 ended up good enough.
I started really ordinary, with 3 jabs from no-where on the 10th. but that was one of the few ordinary holes, and i got lucky enough to keep the pressure on the rest of the round.
It was a great match Mark, many thanks!
