You might be getting a slab of Vomit Bombs yet.

I am trying the Carlton Natural Blonde, not too bad at all.

Platinum Blonde? A great Canadian product of the 80s. Click the link:

But the XXXX Angels bump it up to #1.

The bet was something along the lines of Cascade Premium or the equivalent.
I'm thinking Tooheys Red is appropriate.

Worked from home today so I won't be getting them. I was referring to my local for the long drive home most days from work.
Power went out about 3pm, so no more work could get done. Since then, there has been 2 of Jarro's Fusions (I go through phases with these, a nice drop when you are in the mood), a Hahn Super Dry - was left over in the fridge from the last time that I had people over a Pure Blonde at the park with the daughters, a Budweiser (given as a thank you for supplying a local fight fan with the latest UFC card) and since I have returned home another Pure Blonde.
Should have been 2 Blondes at the park but my greedy wife wanted one .
I don't mind the Blondes, not a bad drop and nice out of the tap.
I wouldn't buy the Bud, never ever, but quite often, the best beer is FREE beer!
I'll grab some mids soon and let you know what I think.
For the record, I don't mind the XXXX, but I prefer the Bitter. I was super disappointed in the Gold when I found out that it was a mid. This was due to the fact that I was a backpacker when I first tried it and was fresh off a tour of the XXXX brewery. I was alternating the Bitters and Golds and the "Downunder Bar" (quality) and wasn't getting as pissed as I should have. Damn mid-strength!
However, a few years back they were trying to promote it over here and a mate's job was to give out samples at local bottle shops, as well as to buy pints of it for people at local pubs (WHAT A GIG!). I got my hands on a lot of it for nothing, which was great, even though they were only 250ml bottles.
SMS, get him a carton of the best beer ever made in SA, West End lager.
Agreed JC that Seppo Bud is crap, but has anyone else here tried the original Czech Bud?
It's sensational.
Moving over here has been an absolute beer revelation. Some amazing stuff.
If you can get 'em at the bottle shop, try Leffe (but put a 'dom on first so you don't jizz in your pants), Hoegaarden (I've had it at home, was about $80 a case. Here it's £1 a bottle at the supermarket!!), Newcastle Brown Ale (can be had in Aus for sub-$20 a sixpack) and Kronenburg Blanc - and the Czech Bud.
www.boozle.com.au should help you find them easily enough.
Indeed, Budvar is an exceptional lager!
When i was in the navy,we pulled into a yank base for a few days and took a few slabs of VB with us for yanks to get into, well weren't they messy by the end of it, half of them could't walk, being all hero yank beer better than aussie beer, ah good times.
Nowhere near the top, but it is still a very nice beer. It is a sweet beer, which leads to some major hangovers. They make a nice Pale Ale now as well. I'd probably give it top 7 in my Canadian rankings.
I was super excited a year ago when Liquorland started stocking it. Even more excited when I picked up a slab for $3.79. I was buying a bunch of alcohol and it was supposed to be $44.99 for the slab. My entire order, which had two bottles of wine, some cider and some drinks for my wife came to $48. I quickly paid and left, as we would all do. Checking the receipt, it appeared as if the slab was scanning at the single bottle price.
Let us know. Come see Adlo and his 12 hybrids!
Have firmly parked my arse in the Virgin Lounge with free grog on hand.
Decided on something different - Matilda Bay Beez Neez - a honey wheat beer.
This could end up in tears - my flight doesn't leave for 4.5 hours.
