I'm sure you guys are already onto this, but check out www.boozle.com.au to source cheap beer in your area.
(Although I reckon Dan's & First Choice are generally the best anyway)

This. They might get rolled on sale by BWS/LiquorLand for a generic Aussie beer once in a while, but day in day out they are awesome.
    Forum needs more banter.

Bought some Atomic Pale Ale on a mates recommendation. Very easy to drink. I reckon you could have a session on it very easily!

Had a few Mountain Goat's the last few nights. Nice drop, but not in the class of Red Duck.

The hightail Jack? It's a cracking beer but way over carbonated, I like it more than the duck simply because the malt & hops are both dialed up in comparison. The duck is a better session ale though, which is why I have it on at work

Does "have it on at work" mean that I'll be able to try it on my upcoming visit?

Sure will Andy, I have a small craft liston as well as a beer of the month, they're all $8.50 and the list is

    Prickly Moses Pilsener, VIC, Bungarook
Red Duck Amber Ale, VIC, Purrumbete
Coldstream Brewery Naked Ale, VIC, Yarra Valley
Wicked Elf Pale Ale, NSW, Port Macquarie
Dirty Granny Matured Apple Cider, WA, Fremantle
    Matso’s Ginger Beer, WA, Broome

Beer of Month in Feb isn't set yet but will either be Stone & Wood Pacific ale or Jamieson Brewery Pale Ale

I love it when someone says a beer is "sessionable"

It's a great criteria for judging beer!

There are some beers which are nice but you can only drink so many. I find a lot of the really hoppy premiums like that (Boag's Premium comes to mind) - I can have a few but couldn't drink 6 or 8 in a sitting. Just too fruity and not very nice after a while. On the other hand there are some beers I can easily sit and drink 6+ which makes it a very sessionable beer in my book.

And now that I've said that I have to buy some Red Duck. And if this makes no sense please ignore, since I've had a bit of a session on Boag's Draught tonight (the local staple, it's like mother's milk)....

Went into Uncle Dan's this arvo to stock up on the staples.
I always have a bit of a look around at what looks good and what looks cheap.

Spotted the Sail & Anchor range at $44 a box...thought to myself, "self, you best be grabbing some of that," so I did.

As I dragged a carton of Golden Ale out of the shelving, I thought either the adrenalin is running, or it was a bit light.
It was a freakin carton of 16! Who (obviously apart from Sail & Anchor) makes a box of beer with only 16 beers in it and why?

    Maybe I should ask SMS...

    Sneaky bustards.

As a pale ale lover I just reckon there is nothing better than Little Creatures. I can't do a big session on it though. 6 or so and I feel the need to change to bourbon or red plonk.
    Cheers
    Craig

I personally think both of those are overpriced wanky WA beers. The only 'creatures beer I can drink is the pilsner and I stop at one
