Will have to pick up a 6 pack next time I am in Dan Murphy's. Is it a nice warm weather beer.

I don't mind the Singa on a hot day. Goes down well.

IMHO Little Creatures Bright Ale leaves Pale Ale for dead.

Pale Ale is rubbish is stubbies. The only place to enjoy it is on tap.

Loving the Coopers Pale ale today.

Razaar, Coopers is made in SA, but it has to be an exception to the rule. THe others are crap yes.
Grunt...West End & Sussex = Cats Piss. Coopers is a great beer, a Queenslander or NSWer must have given somebody down there the recipe.

Agreed, both quality beers. Problem is, being a Perth native, I learned to like them at Little Creatures Brewery. Just find they can't quite live up to the same taste out of the stubbies. In a glass it is still quality compared to everything else out there.

I'm more or less a Carlton Draught man. About 6 months ago I quit from managing bottleshops up on the Sunshine Coast where I liked to try a few different ones now and then. Other favourites are Kirin Ichiban, Asahi, Kingfisher, Singa, Stella, San Miguel.

Of the locals I like Tooheys New, Coopers Pale, Extra Dry Platinum and Little Creature Pale

Have got allsorts in my fridge at the moment.
Crownies, Pure Blondes, XXXX Gold, Carlton Midstrength & Coopers Pale Ale.

It's even better when it's supplied by the sales reps from companies I deal with!

Well, i've been absolutely smashing the Carlton Dry Fusions over the chrissy break .... 8 cartons since the 24th November (my birthday).. and i reckon it's just about the best tasting beer i've ever tried (with the BlueTongue a close second)

A tip for the pro's when drinking this though ..... take a swig or two, and refill with some Vodka ..... a really nice refreshing drop

    Enjoy !

Anyone else catch the ACA beer story this week? They had a few so called 'experts'
    doing last tests.
    Couple of suprises worth noting.
Most of them thought Calton Draught was actually Crown.
A few thought Pure Blonde was Heinekin.

Niiiiice, there is a beer over here that I first sampled here in 06 doing three bottle beer bongs at a 14th C French Chateau. Called Desperados. Beer with a shot of tequila in it. It's great. Not sure it's on sale at home. If you want a few bottles at cost AU$5 plus postage, just PM me.

I had a few at my Dad's on Xmas Day, I did not mind it but it seemed to me to be a beer that would be nice for a couple (2-3) but not an all day drink, if you know what I mean.

I had a stubbie of the Coopers Pale Ale last night, and despite liking the Sparkling Ale, the Pale wasn't much good for my tastes at all.

I meant to watch that but missed it - was interested to see who the 'experts' were...IMO all 4 of those beers are ordinary - especially Pure Blonde and Crown, both extremely over rated beers - I had some Platinum Blonde a couple of weeks ago and it was a nice drop

You would have liked it better if you had 10...maybe you shouldn't have put the lemon in it..

Haha. I'm one of the first to criticise people for putting lemon/lime in their Corona (and disguising the crap taste).

Reading some of the posts brings back memories of my first experience breasting the bar as a 19 year old in the mid 60s, legal age was 21 but I was with granddad and his mates. The normal round with his group was a 5 oz. beer with a nip of OP rum. The routine was to drink a mouthful of beer, pour the rum into the beer and slowly drink the beer/rum mix. After the session each would hop on their bikes and peddle home. We lived in Rockhampton and the local beer was called Macs, a real swill brewed on the banks of the Fitzroy River, guaranteed to give the strongest constitution the runns. It was a known fact that Rocky's beer drinkers were free of intestinal parasites.

Lime beer sounds a little "wooly woofter" to me.
    Forum needs more banter.

ok. sms has kindly offered to pay up for Sydney sucking in the A-League. I'm thinking I should try something new. Anyone got a suggestion that isn't a nancy fancy limey beer? Something that tastes like a real beer.

I tried Firefly the other day. I only had the one stubbie, but it seemed good. Apparently it's been made to go with spicy food.
