That is a very poofy looking excuse for a beer.

I had a nice black ipa at Green Beacon last Friday. I almost told the barman to f off when I asked what hops were in it and he said it was a secret....That's pissweak...beer was good though.
A secret? What a wank!
Agreed. If I wasn't with the Mrs I would have said **** off and walked away. It is a bit precious really. I've been making my own beer [mainly ales] for ages and I know what hops I prefer to use and like to compare them with others and in combinations. The home brew community is very strong in sharing information but this is the first time I haven't been able to find out what hops are in what I buy.
Most likely had NFI so rolled out the top secret line.
Craft beer is already a wank so it isn't surprising.
need to man up and get some Eagle Bitter round the chops

Well, that ad has put me in my place. I'm clearly not a "beer man".
Anyway, I had my first Lichtenhailer stylebeerdrink on Saturday. It has a lightly smoked, slightly sour taste to it, and was pretty tasty.
That ad has 1988 written all over it.
So I assume the beer was released into Adelaide in 2018.

Benno: It was around '93 from memory; the ad got banned due to the dog running off with the women's pants was deemed sexist.
I'm not sure if it got coverage in other states, the brewery at the time was called S.A Brewing.
They had some cracking ads for their other beer Eagle Blue involving Rod Marsh getting Dipper and Lillie to shout the bar in S.A
Here is a historical article about it:

Good grief... That ad just highlights everything wrong with both advertising and Australia in one 60 second burst...
If you don't like that ad, you're either a gay or feminist.

Back to the beers:
Tried the wolf of the willows Jalisco sour. Hmmmm no good. Tasted like burnt bacon and got no fruit. A bit too far gone for me for a beer. Do not try. Unless you're into burnt meat beers.
Then today I've had a really good temple brewing dia-brux sour IPA. Delicious stuff. Sour, sharp acidic and IPA at the bottom.
Somehow, all I get out of your post is that I want to try the Jalisco.
I'm loving Range Brewing from Teneriffe in Brisbane at the moment. They don't actually have a core range, but keep making different beers. Lots of winners. Tonight is a New England Pale Ale and a Double NEIPA; both 9 out of 10 beers.
I'll be attending Bendigo on the hop which is a beer festival down here. Meant to be very good, got mates that go every year. Can't wait.
