Cans taste better? I'll take a bottle every day of the week.

    Default Beer

Why? Cans seal better and keep out light. That said, I always pour either into a glass anyway.

Never had a foxy can, unlike you get with stubbies (echoes for my southern brethren).

And more importantly cans don't leave shards of glass in the freezer from that six pack you thought you could fit in prior to deciding to fall asleep on the lounge floor.

Also you can't freeze stubbies down to use as drinkable ice bricks

Also the neighbours don't wake up as easily when the garbo empties a wheelie bin of cans at 7 in the morning

Cans taste different to me (not in a good way) and go hot faster. The dregs are terrible. Never poured a stubbie (or can) into a glass in my life.

Anyone here a fan of the Gose style of beer? They are just weird to me. Salty beer doesn't seem right.

I've only ever had 1 of them, a Nomad Freshie Salt and Pepper Gose. They use local sea water to get the salty flavour in it. I was expecting a lot more salt in it but was actually quite refreshing. Its not something I would buy often but I didn't mind it.

I've had that one. Last night it was the Nomad gose with Murray River salt and desert lime in it. As you say, it is refreshing, but I'd drink plenty of other beers before it.

What's wrong with drinking local beers like Swan Lager?

Didn't go looking too hard for local stuff to be honest. Went to the mainstream bottle shops, that sold mostly mainstream lines.

If you want to try weird then try a Moby Dick Ambergris Ale from Robe town brewery. I got a bottle while passing through not long ago, definitely has a different taste but surprisingly not as bad as you would think. Got through it pretty easy but wouldn't buy again.

A beer with ambergris in it, which is petty much a expensive piece of whale vomit mostly used in perfume. Doesn't it just sound so appealing to drink

I am clearly way behind in my beer knowledge. Whale vomit, deer semen? Please tell me that's all sarcasm because I just can't tell anymore........
