I had to decide between bumping this thread or the one Gaz started earlier this year. I chose this one, but I'm quoting from the other.

    I heard it's a decent drop.
Pure Blonde seems to upped it's price lately with it's popularity (it's on taps everywhere now), so I thought I would get a carton of Bondi Blonde, without testing beforehand.
Geez I make some poor spontaneous decisions. This stuff tastes crap. 2 down, 22 to go.

Luckily I hate VB, so I won't have to worry that I'm deserting them because I'm pissed they are dropping the alcohol by .1 of a percent.

    Scotch and dry - yum!

Something about an alcohol content threshold for tax. They save a lot of money by dropping it from 4.9% to 4.8%.

They've also assured people that it will still taste the same, that is, shyte.

They save like 20million in tax. I believe someone just pee's in the bottle to make up the missing .1%.

I'm guessing it should then taste better!!

Did you asked what the young bloke liked? His idea of a good beer might have been Fosters with a slice of lime?

If you're still stuck, look for Little Creatures - sensational beer.

Anyone tried the Coopers dark ? How does it go ?

I've tried the Coopers Mid and its got to be the greatest mid strength ever invented.

Coopers Dark Ale is everything Old tries to be and much more...as Molly would say ...Do yourself a favour...it is the KING of dark ale in my opinion...and as for ANY mid strength beer WHY BOTHER ? - might as well be drinking Pimms and lemonade like a poofter,

didn't find the coopers dark significantly better, but liked it all the same.

Coopers extra stout or nothing, dont bother with the dark its like old etc

The best of the bunch atm is Mountain goat high tail, moutain goat pale ale, platts folly larger, steel river larger or fish rock red emporer amber ale.

Enough said, try them and dont look back!

Anything with a label like that on it looks destined to tip down the drain

You'd never find one .. they're as rare as finding a pic of blake when he doesn't look like a gutter-dwelling wino.
