Driver Query
Hey everyone.
Apologies in advance if i have posted this in the wrong section.
a few months ago i was lucky enough to score some clubs to begin playing on. The irons are Acer Titan III's with accompanying woods, but along with these a Seve 18 deg Hybrid and a Callaway diablo Edge (11 deg, reg shaft ) was included as my friend didn't use them anymore.
I've noticed that the driver is rather tricky to play with. Being relatively new, I wasn't sure if this was a driver more suited to someone with more skill then myself or if i'm hitting it poorly due to my lack of skill. I'm right handed and my drives swing to the right 75% of the time. Considerably to the right :P
Ive been told that being young and fit, I should be playing with a stiff shaft (ok fair enough) but I don't know whether or not that driver is suitable for a beginner in regards to size of the sweet spot and whatever else.
Another friend suggested a Mizuno MX-700 as its relatively forgiving and has a big sweet spot.
Also. When the degree is specified, why would one choose a 9.5 degree over 12 deg? does it have to do with loft? something with a higher loft would be better for a beginner?
Thanks for your help
