The passing of Devo's Bob Casale has reminded of some of their early stuff. These are off their first album;

Marianne Faithful is one of my all time favorites. Here are some of her classics from Broken English (1979). Strong language warning, especially for Why Dýa do it;

Time to revive this thread. the 70's was so good for music.
The late 70's was punk and new wave territory, but there were outliers that really didn't fit the pigeon holes. The Stranglers were one such group and these were two of their best;

Whilst I was born in 1980 I spent a large amount of time growing up listening to 70’s music mainly due to having two older brothers.
The Stranglers are great and I am really looking forward to seeing them live next year.
Saw Dragon live this year for the first time, some great memories, this is my favorite;

A long time fan I too was considering going to see them but changed my mind when I saw that there is only one original member still with them - Jean-Jaques Burnel.

This song was The Specials first single and just made the end of the 70's, released in 1979. Not their highest charting song, but a really good example of the group's work. The 2nd song, the opening track off their first album is probably their best know work. The story goes that they could not get a record deal, so they formed their own label, 2 Tone Records.
