2 parcels arrived for me today. I am thinking one is from Desert Diamond Golf after the latest USPS update on Friday was that the goods had arrived at the Post Office.

I'll be rushing home tonight (except where the new fixed camera has been installed).

    Quick review...

I have a Harrison Shotmaker E sitting in a Taylor Made R300 Tour 9.5 with a Fujikura Speeder 550 stiff at 44.5". Hit a few this morning, tried ten shots with Shotmaker, ten shots without, ten shots with a 9.5 Supertri/Nunchuk. Bottom line is that, for this rusty golfer, there are no magic bullets and all of the three combinations produced about the same results. I was aiming at a generous fairway width at the driving range and all three combos produced 5 fairways hit and 5 fairways missed. The one thing that the Shotmaker did achieve was that the Speeder 550 definitely did feel much more solid with the Shotmaker in.

I also took out my old 510 TP with a VS Proto. Best driver of the lot for me.

Arrived. Installed. Busting to try it!

I did have a bit of an issue installing it. Hopefully its just a one off. I will install Canuck's tomorrow and be more knowledgable as a result the issue I had.

    No rattles. Bring on Thursday!

They're not that fragile. Mine got stuck and wouldn't lock in. It got a fair treatment getting it out. The lock nut was not set in properly. Once I got it out, I re-installed it and got it to lock.

Is the grip part of the kit? or do you have to knock a hole out of the end of what ever grip you are using?

Knock a hole in top of the grip, drop it in and then use a locking, grip cap in the butt, which also helps counterweight the insert.

Ok, so it is basically a big wall plug. It goes further into the shaft than I thought it would.

Gary Tozer was talking about some other Counterbalancing system he was going to become a distributor for. Will have to track down what it was?

The Shotmaker isn't a counter balance. Mike does a better job than me at explaining it.

The grip cap plug is just to do TWO basic things...

    1) Plug the cut grip cap (which gets a large hole in the end)
    2) Adds a little weight that sort of balances the 4g Shotmaker down the shaft.

I will be removing the grips to put the Shotmaker in & out. But for you guys at home it'd be easier to cut the grip cap and install each time.

Like 4 grams will make a difference to your hack swing. Or any of ours for that matter.

Does this shotmaker allow you to make the club shorter like the Nunchuk does? It seems to me that the big advantage of the latter is that you can for no loss in distance.
