I believe so. You also don't need to use a 100 gram shaft.

As I said though, it only suits .335 shafts at the moment.

I'm sure if it works well and sells enough and they will extend the concept to other shaft sizes.

They are working on .350 at the moment.

It's had a massive amount of success to date. I think it's been on the market for just on 60 days.

hmmm. I'd be very keen to 'chuck up the hybrid, but considering I hit it 2 or 3 times a round total, i can't justify spending 200+ on a shaft for it.

bugger it wont work on a .355.

I was thinking about this for my 3 metal so had a look at the Shotmaker website and with a little bit of reading the fitting guide I found that it is no good for me. Why?

"In general, two types of shaft bore are bad fit:

    1. Uneven shaft bore, like the Aldila Voodoo S-Core;
    2. Shaft bore with less taper than the insert, meaning the shaft bore is flatter than the insert. "

I have the Aldila Voodoo S in my 3 metal! Damn it.

Happy to take suggestions from the experts.

Get rid of the Voodoo in the 3W...

    NO, WAIT!

Buy a completely new 3W with a different shaft in it.

I'm thinking of one of these for the driver and the nunchuk in the FW and maybe hybrid.

WOW!!! Why didn't I think of that

    I just need to buy a 910 F 15.5* ... then the shotmaker

Hang on .. then I have to get a new hybrid to match ... but the shotmaker won't fit

I know ... I'll just buy the heads only and a couple more Nunchucks .. that will solve it

Now how do I hide that sort of cash from the auditor

IanO, well spotted. You need a new shaft. Harrison SAGA would go nicely. I think I will be replacing my Voodoo with one and another Shotmaker.

Did your handicap drop today as a result of the shotmaker?

Don't let hocko anywhere NEAR this thing!

It'd be an exxy exercise for him to play this in a driver. I can see the new 2011 Mastercard ad now...

    5 x 1 hour Golf Lessons...$500
    Titleist 910 D3 9.5* Driver head...$250
    Tour Issue Project X shaft...$279
    Harrison Shotmaker...$95

Breaking it in half on the 2nd tee at an OzGolf Day...PRICELESS!

    So ...

    ... what's the verdict here ?

Is this worth purchasing, or just another fad ?

I think JC's post has summed up his views.

Mega is in the states and only plays once a week anyway.

It sounds quite good. Comparing it to the nunchuck kool aid it probably seems a bit failish.

I am using it on Saturday in comp, and in a driver I already liked and used quite well.

    I will let you know.

It is very good. Much better than the Nunchuk for my game.

Side spin is way down with this thing.

Too bad the rest of my game sucks at the moment. I need about 13 more shotmakers.
