    Welcome to the forum

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

Have they started building houses around the course yet ?
The land has been developed into building blocks but no houses as yet. Was out playing 9 holes this morning and a few more trees were being cut down and cleaned up. Can't believe how many there still are all around the course. With the new couch fairways that were line planted late last year there needs to be heaps more felled to allow some sunlight into the fairways. Hope things keep moving in the right direction.

That makes it easier ( I think ) My mother always spoke highly about your father and the work he done. Where do you play your golf?

Welcome 2manybogeys, enjoyed playing at both Mount courses. Don't get to them as often as i would like being just a bit further away than most in the Sth East for me being at Robe. Must admit that I really dont like the hilly bits though. I am a lazy b@sdt@rd at heart on the golf course.

    Hi Golfer69
Pretty much exactly as your photo. They have left 3- 4 on the end -this small group to protect the ladies tee area until they make a new ladies tee for safety reasons. Strangely they have built a tee block on the first approx 50 - 80 metres forward of where you would have seen it - something that the course chairman wanted even though there was heaps of argueing etc over it even at committee level. I would love to see it go back over the left where it used to be as a par 5 - better landing areas and suits the hole better. I think you proposed for the tee block to be over on the left in your plan too didn't you?

    Hi Talart
Biggest problem in our region is distance and it makes it hard to get to all courses as you said. The hilly bits I never thought were that bad although I am starting to feel it a bit more now as gravity is working against me!

Spoiled at Robe most of the course is flat, except the back four from 11-14. I am still surprised at how gravity is not affecting me as much since starting golf again. It is the only way to get fit in my opinion, no running needed lol. An hour drive to play is good value for a round of golf to me so I get as far as Naraccoorte, Lucindale, Kingston and Beachport mostly, Millicent, Penola, I have only played once so far.

Yeah mate - know more of her than personally. Had the odd word when she was a junior in the Mt before she moved to Adelaide. A lot of her family are golfers in the Mt.
