No, I did not know that! I just find I get bored at HMB because there are very few opportunities to open the shoulders. Also, I struggle with the right angled dogleg hole; I take a 6 iron and still hit thru the fwy into the water. It just seems wrong to hit a 7 iron off the tee on a par 4!
Courty: I like to provide 'moral' support to our fellow competitors but, prefer to do so on courses I like!!
What about that Carbon Tax thing hey!
Julia sucks!
"That former Solahart manager is so overbearing and intimidating"."
Sorry I don't get this.
The beauty of HMB is that you have to think hard about every tee shot. Hit down the middle and it's a moderately easy course. Have an off day and you'll raise the bat. Cairns, Mareeba, G'vale etc you automatically reach for the driver on any hole that isn't a par 3. I call that boring.
The right hand dogleg hole (13) and the short par 4 5th are absolute gems.

And the carbon tax won't make a shred of difference to global warming, even if global warming is caused by human intervention.
Which it isn't.
Tony Abbott's budgie smugglers ?
You're a bomber, not a thinker. No shame there.
At HMB I'd say you'd hit driver on 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, 14, 15 and 17. Am I right?
To be honest, I cannot remember which holes I take driver on; I think you may have listed a few too many.
There are two longish par 5's I take driver on and about two par fours I feel comfortable taking driver on... I think that's about it
Still underthe thumbwrapped around your kids little finger Dave ?
NK, why hasn't your big win last Sunday been handicapped?
Mike, ask the District, you should have their email address.Originally Posted by mike

Not having a go at you. Just curious as to why it's a non-handicapped event. Doesn't make sense to me.
Ask the District directly, that way you can have a reply from the Executive.Originally Posted by mike
OK, I'll do that.
Others are asking the same thing. Just a heads up for you, that's all.
Did they ask the same thing in previous years about handicapping for the event (when I didnt play) ?Originally Posted by mike
Is it always non-handicapped?
Bit like questions being asked about some nett 58's and 59's by other Club members.Originally Posted by mike

I don't know about that. I haven't been at the club much this year.
Anyway back on topic.
When is this match happening? Is it gonna be at Millaa?
NK, can you let me know what dates you have available and we can make this thing happen?
Family holidays, City of Cairns and a work trip to Townsville are all now done & dusted so I am reasonably flexible with regards to dates - provided I get enough notice (although the 10th & 11th of September are out as I will be a sole parent that week-end).
What say you?
Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.
Nice threadjack Dave.
Thought you would like that.

If this match doesn't happen does Mike win?
