So Nudgee GC to 27 holes?
Members haven't been notified of anything else (despite it being on the news last night)
I haven't looked at the plans that the Minister for Transport released yesterday, only that he had released them. Has anyone else? What is it affecting?
They had the GM of Nudgee on the news last night saying it will affect 4 holes on the South Course with work to begin within 12 months.
Id say 1,2,3 & 4 completely gone with other holes (6th green and 7th tee) will have to have works done to change it. The 15th and 16th will also be close. So while they say 4 holes, I'd say that's full holes with parts of quite a few others.
I reckon you are spot on Graham. The 17th is pretty close to the proposed road too.
It'll be good if it works to get the congestion in the traffic fixed around that area.

Just got this emailed
Dear Members,
Many of you will have seen the segments on the*6pm*news with regards to the Gateway Arterial Road upgrade on Channel 9 and Channel 7 last night. In the Channel 9 segment the interviewer made a statement with regards to Nudgee Golf Club being reduced to a 27 hole complex.
This statement is not factual. The resumption process has been accelerated in the last few weeks with serious negotiations between the Club and the Department of Main Rds *underway. At present no determination has been made with regards to compensation, however, this is imminent since the Department wants the handover of the land by August 2014.
The Board has been seeking additional land to augment the resumed land. It is premature to determine the final outcome of the resumption but the Board will be making every effort to retain a 36 hole complex. We will keep members informed of significant developments.

You should get that Chaimberland bloke on board to design some new holes ...

So Nudgee GC is being pushed towards the salt marshes?
Consciousness and awareness - awareness is being aware of what is happening and being aware of what is happening within ourselves while we are conscious. Where did I leave my glasses?

From what I have seen sporting clubs come out way way in front when government resumes land. Mooloolaba bowls club got a couple of million for losing about 2-3 metres along the boundary for road widening, which actually impacted on their green by only about 1metre. Result, they built two new artificial grass greens undercover, it is now one of the best venues in the country.
Nudgee should come out way in front here whether they get to retain 36 holes or not.
