Exactly how would the Northlakes deal (if it goes ahead) work Dick ?

I knew you were joking about NL ....

.. but, what about a totally new course in the Airport district ??

Aren't there plans ahead to expand/upgrade that area to include a golf course/new hotels etc. ??

    Social is major income

On a sat we have a comp field of 400 across the two course 300 men 100 ladies, that would never work on 27.

there is a plan to make nudgee an all weather (excluding flood) course within two years

As long as they line each side of the fairway with nets. The place is a ball muncher of the highest order.

wow! Hard to believe a course in such a densely populated area could struggle. It would have cost at least $10m to build surely?

    2 Mil ? ... C'mon ... you cant be serious.

10 of the members would just buy a tenth each ... and rip up one of the holes that looks like the other one.

North lakes would be much better off financially if they made there green fees much more reasonable, tried to charge me 99 for a round on a Thursday.

Also 2400 a year a bit steep aswell I think if they were a bit cheaper the increase in members would make up the lost $$$ easily

The course itself would have cost 7-8 to build and then put the clubhouse on top of that.
2 mil would be a steal.
They've sold their golf course housing estate. They don't give two shits about the golf any more.

    Agreed.

New plan is expected in 6 weeks due to poor soil rating, Nudgee road fly over and service station problems.

Community consult in march on new plan.

    State election

Once the new government is in and if the community consult passes they will start more engineering and start negations with Nudgee.

I see Nudgee have reduced the joining fee to $440. It's tempting to rejoin. I've always enjoyed Nudgee, not sure why, but it's a good honest track.

It's part of their membership drive apparently. There is also talk of a intermediate membership (18-30) which I can't remember the details of. Pete knows more as he went to the AGM last night.

Had half a dozen shots today off hard pan mud and one the same out of a bunker, plus one out of a pile of rotting cow manure.

What part of the course were you on? Nowhere near the fairways obviously
