NORTH QUEENSLAND golfing trip.

I'm finalising details with 2 (possibly) 3 other mates regarding a golf trip to FNQ.
We're departing Brisbane in car Friday evening and will be north of Rocky first night.

Blocking out Sunday and Monday (we're commited to rounds with friends in Cairns) what are the courses and locations worth a visit (boy visit - no fancy crap) between Mackay and Cairns

Would be good to catch the NQ guys for a round or two - once the finer details are locked in, i'll start a thread.

What's the weather like in August mate?

I've never played there but I've heard the course at Rollingstone ( just north of Townsville) is a gem. Mystic Sands I think it's called.

Don't forget Dent Island at the Whitsundays (just east of Proserpine). A must play by all accounts!

Dent island does't make the list - bloke i'm going with worked there a couple of years and played it to death. Another day.
We'll be in Cairn Sat/Sun-Wed/Thurs. Staying at Paradise palms.

Trying to leave times open for the next couple of weeks to see if i can fit in a game with the locals.
Would be happy to play wherever. But not Paradise Palms (i'm playing there already)

Kent, unfortunately I'll miss you by a week or so otherwise I would have liked to have hosted you (and the other yocals from up here) at Sea Temple. The course is in good condition at present so even if you do make it up I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

last couple of day's playing townville's offerings.
Willows - not bad. Breeze was up, and made it tough. Very dry unfortunately.
Rowes bay - good layout, but again very dry. Would be a cracking track in good nic.

Catching up with the fnq guys tomorrow. Should be good!

Looking forward to it. The course is in pretty good shape, although it too is drying out a bit.

The greens had a light dusting a few days ago but should be prime for tomorrow.
