Steve Jones would be a former US Open champ (early nineties - 93 or 95?). He didn't finish his round quite so strongly, but he can play. I wouldn't figure on him being on the first page of the leaderboard for too much longer, but he has a habit of playing well in early rounds on tough courses.
Decent round by Adam Scott. Will need to putt better if he is going to contend seriously. Missed too many 8-10 footers on the right. Loanrd played pretty well, too.WITB: TBA

I saw some highlights of Choi.
He slammed in a few 20-30 footers. One left a dent I think.

I can't believe that one of the commentators said that Goose needed to show more emotion so that he can get the crowd behind him...
why???
