No love for Jordan Spieth or Rory? IMO Tiger was on a downdwards slide from the friendlies in his team, especially from his fitness/strength people. Everybody is only as strong as their weakest link and Tiger's was his left knee joint.
The shattering of his self image and ridicule from a previous adoring public would have been enough to totally destroy a normal person.

Not really. Tiger and I are about the same age. He was THE sporting icon for much of my adult life. I would have liked to see him finish on a strong note. I don't see a comeback in his future.

What a shame. I was looking forward to watching him chopping it round for another season. Just have to watch Spieth, Rory and JDay play good golf next year.

Not a fan of the man, but golf is just so much more exciting with him playing.

Read the interview in Golf Digest this morning. Loved his honesty - VERY refreshing. I would like to see Tiger win again though...

Tiger sounds like he is still a long way off playing competitively again. Wouldn't even speculate about playing this year, during a visit to the Commentary box today.

I find it interesting that he always limits his comments to his physical condition/conditioning and same for all the commentators, as if it's only about his back issues and nothing else. Seems to me his physical capacity is only half (if not somewhat less), than the whole story. I think that the elephant in the room is Tiger's psychological state and whether or not he is actually getting any help in that department. Hope he is and I hope he gets back but time's a tickin' and personally I'd be surprised if he enters any comps in future, much less any this year.

What psychological help does he need?

From my very lay perspective, he could be stressed and worried that he may never be able to play as well as he used to. Without someone to help him through this, the feeling could just continue to build and build until he's at a stage where he's too stressed to play at all.. probably there already..

I love Tiger but he will never be the same as he isn't juiced now.

I love how everyone suddenly has a degree in psychology and thinks they have an idea about what is going on in Tiger's head.

If I had 3 back operations in 3 years I would be having mental issues as well.

If bet he has 1 billion reasons sitting in his Swiss bank account that eases the pain though.

When you get to a certain amount of money earnings at the top it's no longer about the money and it's all about wins and more importantly major tournament wins.
Tiger past that $ amount a long time ago.

Hopefully he holds up and even finds some form. I've been a detrastor at times but it will be nice to see him back out there. Hope he plays well.

Be good to see him play his way back into form, he always had such a strong mental game once his putting and irons were working.
