Or maybe get his head fixed so that he doesn't need to.

Just a thought I had the other day but has anyone thought that if tiger doesn't get his game together and start competing for wins again that he may give up the game entirely. I have a feeling that is a real possibility.. If he can't compete at the top level I just think he may lose all interest entirely. Thoughts?

It's a possibility. Who'd have ever imagined that a couple of years ago?

What I think you are trying to say is "I thought this was a forum where members are free to express the opinions." Obviously it is, because you seem to be freely giving your opinion on many topics.

Now to get back to the point you did make, not all opinions are valid. You are free to express them, but that does give them any validity. They could be wrong in fact, incoherent, illogical a combination of these and more. One of the interesting trends in modern society, and you can see it on this forum a lot, is that people think that freedom of speech not only to extends to the freedom to express your opinion, but also somehow giving your opinion validity and also that it shouldn't be challenged, no matter how intemperate, wrong, illogical or just plain stupid it is.

I hope that clears up a few things for you.

Clearly. I have been reticent to express my opinions on this forum in the past, I have been a fence sitter. I'll rectify that and take a lead from your example:
Tiger's choice of caddy, at the moment, has little or no effect on his tournament performance. Steve Williams does not have any magical ability that allows the players he is working for to win. You dribble. A lot. That's an opinion. It may be valid. It may not.

Just, critical reasoning has no place on this forum. Now, don't let it ever happen again.

Steve has the ability to control the environment that Tiger plays in... such a crowd control, shot selection and instilling confidence.

He can also read greens and has a shitload of experience keeping Tiger in the "zone" or somewhere close to it. He also knows Firestone very, very well.

At this level - the caddy is very much part of the team and that is why they get paid so well. As Luke Donald and Graham McDowell both said - if they were just horses, I would not pay them as much.

I truly believe that with Tiger and Steve working as a unit, he would not have played such risky shots as he did which in turn he got punished for.

The influence that Steve has had on Adam should be a good example of that.

that is only a guess on your part. It is also just as likely he was getting plenty at home, but just not the kind he really wanted. We have probably all heard some of the reports from the women he used and abused and it did not seem like normal loving behaviour that I think most mothers of our children would accept.
