    Default 50 State Quarters

I guess this is a little bit of a different Equip Me thread.

I believe the Quarter Dollar makes a perfect ball marker. The US has previously released a quarter for every state. I'm hoping to collect all 50 states as ball markers. Of course I don't need 50 markers, but it's just something I want to do.

If you happen to have one lying around and can help me get to 50, it'd be appreciated. These are not for charity.

    So far I have:

    1. Tennessee
    2. New Hampshire
    3. Vermont
    4. Conneticut
    5. Kentucky
    6. North Carolina
    7. Kansas
    8. Michigan
    9. West Virginia
    10. Nebraska

    Got a way to go!

I've got South Carolina and North Dakota in my rotation.

I thought I had two Georgias to help you out, complete with a nice peach on it, but I couldn't locate them tonight. If I come across them, I'll pass one on.

I too am a big fan of these quarters.

I used my super new, super bright Canadian Quarter for one round and left it on the bench after golf. God knows where it has ended up! I might go and empty the coin bucket that's holding a few hundred bucks and try to find it.

    It's the 51st state.

And to think that you could have had a replacement before that comment.

I'll have a look for the others over the weekend. No promises though. They could be anywhere!

It's cool. There's no commitments here.

West Virginia is actually my face so having two is probably a good thing.

    I have the following:
    - New York quarter (2001)
    - Liberty quarter (1992) - It has the Bald Eagle and "United States of America" "Quarter" on one side and "Liberty" on the other with a bust of George Washington? (EDIT: I looked it up and it was minted for Philadelphia http://coinoftheday.blogspot.com/200...-designer.html)

I don't use them for anything (except cash when I travel to the US )

I may have a Massachusetts one at home, MW. Will check over the weekend once I remember where my rather small stash of foreign currency is.

I've got a handful at home I think, I'll have a look which states.

On the subject, I use a 1958 Penny to mark my ball, but recently got given a Collingwood Pitch Repairer/Ball Marker, so may make a change.

I was going through my foreign coin collection today and found a second quarter in addition to my Massachusetts one. Happy to swap you an Alabama for a Louisiana.

Not trying to be smart MW but Puerto Rico isn't one of the 50 states is it? If you include it in your total do you have to amend the total number up from 50?

Yup. I am bemused why they got one. Obviously to make the pricks happy.

I actually don't know how many are in the set.

It would definitely make Jerry, George, Elaine & Kramer happy after their run-in with maroon golf.
