    Default 2011 Ozgolf Victorian Matchplay

    2011 Vic Ozgolf Matchplay

    Detail
Annual Ozgolf Matchplay event for the Mexicans.
After closing date for interest, Bruce and myself will draw 1st round matches out of the hat. Matches will then be posted here. Round 1 will have a cut off date of (more than likely end of March).

Round 2 will consist of all round 1 match winners (if odd number of entries some players may get auto entry to second round i.e. last years winner. Round 2 will have a cut off date of (more than likely end of June).

Round 3 will consist of all round 2 match winners (if odd number of entries lucky losers get auto entry to third round) Round 3 will have a cut off date of (more than likely end of September).

All subsequent rounds will be determined after final numbers have been confirmed.

Format is handicapped matchplay i.e. one player has a handicap of 18 and the opponent has a handicap of 15 then the 18 h'caper will get a shot on the 3 hardest holes.

It is advisable to organise golf days in an attempt to get multiple matches completed on the one day, also those new Ozgolf members can get to know other Victorian golfers, (all Interstate Ozgolfers are most welcome to play in these days if they are in town)

It is the reponsibility of both players of a match to coordinate the playing of said match.

Those players that do not have an official handicap are welcome to play, a handicap must be nominated by them prior to teh match in line with their ability. If a hustler is found within the ranks, I reserve the right to do something REALLY REALLY REALLY humiliating to them.

Anything not clear let me know.

flowergirl congratulations on your win today at waterforde valley both you and andi played some great golf going neck and neck there for awhile until andi decided to go bush...

also flowergirl , andi and chappy thanks for the game, really enjoyed the hit and was great to watch some great golf amongst the 3 of you.

while i didnt score that well i felt i played some really good shots out there on a track i havent played..

i really struggled in the last few holes the course got a tad long for me tired my little sore legs and the blisters i have...
however though i still enjoyed the round as i took alot of positives out of that game.

anyway thanks for the game i enjoyed it very much

    cheers

Hey Bruce. I'm just thinking maybe next Sunday is a bit too soon. It would be really great to make a big Vic Ozgolf day of this match. Be a good excuse to get as many ozgolfers together and I think we need to give more notice to everyone. The day after the grand final is probably not going to be the best day for everyone.
    What do you think??

    Hole by Hole

    1st
Reg pars to both players with FG sliding a birdie putt just past the edge. SQUARE

    2nd
Par 3, Andi just through, FG long and left. FG chips through the green for second, then on for 3rd. Andi chips on for 2nd and 2 putts, gives him the hole. Andi 1 up

    3rd
FG makes a reg par and Andi shaves the cup to halve teh hole. back to SQUARE

    4th
Good drives, FG duffs her second into a fairway trap and struggles from there, Andi takes the hole. Andi 1 up

    5th
Couple bogies square the hole. Andi still 1 up

    6th
Both players struggle off the tee and the hole tapers out to a halved hole. Andi still 1 up

    7th
FG fires back to take the hole and square the match. SQUARE

    8th
Andi goes takes the hole and goes 1 up. Andi 1 up

    9th
Halved haole Andi makes the turn at 1 up. Andi 1 up

    10th
Reg par to FG takes the match back to square. SQUARE

    11th
Another reg par to FG to take the lead in the match. FG 1 up

    12th
Andi just misses a clutch putt to halve the hole. FG 2 up

    13th
2 superb pars on a tough par 3, halved hole. FG 2 up

    14th
Halved hole by FG and Andi with 2 SNOWMEN triples . FG 2 up

    15th
Another halved hole with 2 doubles. FG 2 up

    16th
Andi carves 2 drives int the scrub and conceedes the match before FG gets a drive away. FG wins 3 and 2

They both played weel with some healthy banter.

Oz was no disgrace from the tee, smashing numerous long drives down the guts and I was very pleased with my game considering my limited playing schedule. I was standing on the 18th tee sitting 4 over the card, only vomit all over myself coming done the last to take an 8.

    Bring on the final

You should have played me today Andy. Played in the final of our club's matchplay champs. Played like a donkey all day - one par and a hell of a lot of doubles. I was in the trees - shanking the ball - absolute crap. My opponent wasnt much better - had to give her 10 shots. Lost on the 18th.

Sorry - this is in the wrong thread!!!

Shouldn't be a problem at all.

Andi will no doubt also be up for a hit so we can make a group or if a few others are keen then we can book a couple of groups.

Andi might even wear a skirt if you are lucky.

Great. How about booking three tee times for this. I'm sure we can get at least 12 Victorians to play in this. Given you all plenty of notice.
As soon as you book the tee times let me know and we will start a new thread for this game.
EVERYONE is very very welcome to join us for a game. Be good to catch up again.
