I'd probably reverse that - low bounce for the hard bunkers at yokine and higher bounce at vines ( usually fluffier)

I was using at 58/8 for most of my golfnut like shots.

Bergsey is spot on Pieface. Low bounce will suit courses like Harty, Kennedy Bay, WAGC, or wet sand in general.

High bounce better for The Vines, MLGC etc

And the 1st round scorelines are pretty savage aren't they? At least 3 players were steam rolled.

It was the difference GN. Yoss made 3 (?) sand saves to half my pars. My one excursion in the sand resulted in a loss on a hole Yoss chopped up. Just about choked when he put the offending wedges up for sale! Must not have matched the colour of his handbag or something...

Vines was wet when I played. I just kept picking them too clean there. Mt Lawly I dunno, just made poor contact. Should have just smashed it out 1st up, instead of trying to play it out with touch, which I finally did. I just don't find any of the council tracks have practice set ups with sand anything like the members tracks to get some relevant miles on the wedge game. Plus I stink.

Open up the stance, heaps of weight for me on the front foot from the knee down, open wedge right up. Go for that nice thunk noise. mmm.

An open face isn't going to work as well in a bunker with a lack of sand or wet sand. A higher loft with less bounce played closer to square is going to work much better.

Opening the face exposes all of the bounce.... bounce you want to get your wedge through soft sand.

Also looking at the draw is the winner meant to play a match against himself in OCT/NOV?

Wouldn't be the first time that the winner ended up playing with himself. Our last TWO winners are proof of that.
