Honour in the proshop
Guys if you sell stuff on here for an agreed price, deliver it.
Don't withhold the product.
Don't try and bump the price up.
Don't sell it to someone else for more money.
Communicate with the buyer.
If you don't like the price don't accept it.
Follow the pro shop rules.

As Jarro pointed all that stuff is going to happen anyway. We all work out pretty quickly who and who not deal with. Even those who are much loved in the forum (by the gullible) turn out to be shifty pricks.

I'm sure we can rustle up a few experts on that one.

Had issues like this on another site, both buying and selling. No issues on this site.
Prompts me to post a similar thread elsewhere.

Cold comfort to those who don't know. It seems the only way to find out is to be burnt in a transaction.
Caveat emptor.

That's the main point. Certain people on here talk amongst themselves and make it known they have been burnt, no problem with that, it is the way of the world. However the rest of the forum is left without the information.
Like it or not it does reflect badly on the forum as a whole, and I see nothing wrong with a name and shame thread for the people who have done the wrong thing. If they eventually do the right thing and refund/deliver the goods the post can be edited and their name deleted.

I'm not really sure how much work it'd entail ??
Has anyone seen a similar setup in another forum somewhere ?

Jack - I've told admin I won't name names in this thread and in my case it has no benefit as the club has been on sold.
It is just the principle of the pro shop.
I am in favour of a feedback or dispute section for the proshop.

That's the point. There is a lot of good transactions going on every day.
It's just the actions of a few members that tarnish the good work of others.

With all due respect Pete, it may have no benefit for you but it might for a lot of others who use the pro shop.

I think it would be very tough to do a balanced negative based feedback system, unless you went the whole hog and replicated Ebay. And as most of us know even that has its flaws. We have seen one off negative feedback threads that have gone pear shaped pretty quickly. It will always be he said, she said.
Positive feedback in the sales thread and/or perhaps even by leaving a Visitors Message on their profile would be welcomed, I am sure.

It's pretty simple, you use your judgement. There isn't any special "in the know" group who talk amongst themselves and keep secrets.
We've gone over feedback ad-infinitum and some don't like the answer. Feedback is a bad idea. It involves the forum admin in issues that have nothing to do with them. It creates work for forum admin who are stretched thin as it is. Finally we would have problems with what is and is not legitimate feedback.

Obviously the person who slighted you will be reading this thread, so rather than post in their for sale thread you've taken the soft option.

I'd certainly support a system that could put members on notice about the "shifty pr1cks" identified in post # 5. I'm sure we could nut out a system to do that.

How about you just go through the pro shop threads and work it out yourself or even better stop making excuses and turn up to an Ozgolf day and ask. Finally if you're that concerned don't buy on Ozgolf or only buy off someone you have done deals with before.

That just tells me you're not a member.
