Bit the bullet and bought a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge last night.

You have one chance to impress me Google / Android / Samsung.

I actually don't know why people change ecosystems unless they are really keen for a move. Most people i know who've done it to try it out haven't been happy and have gone back, bagging what they tried. Maybe I'm a bit 'better the devil you know'?

"Underwhelmingness" for a ridiculous price, I guess. $1560 for the 256GB Plus model? Wow. I got my Galaxy for $734, and will pick up a 128GB SD Card for $50. So half price.

Nothing about the 7 wowed me, and it seems Apple have run out of good ideas from the Jailbreak community to implement in iOS 10, so now is as good a time as any to trial the Android side. I have discovered that Android is an absolute POS unless running on the premo hardware though, and will need to allow me to do some super modding to catch up to the customisability of a Jailbroken iPhone, but like I said, now is as good a time as any to dip the toe in the water.

    The bromance is over?

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

I think it's just getting harder and harder to be excited with new phone releases. Early on the were great gains to be made each new release in both features and OS. But that's showing dramatically. I'm a tech geek, I love this stuff and read gizmodo every day and cnet etc, but i just can't be bothered getting rid of my Nexus 5 atm. Might just be the right arse in me too. I'm looking the look of the Huawei P9, mostly for the camera though. And I don't really need it. And in the end, if I get something I'm just gonna put the Google launcher on it and run it like a Nexus phone.

    This Galaxy on fire yet?

Jetstar are making people turn them off pre-flight, not that it stopped one of their cabins smoking up.

Hopefully cured, fingers crossed. Thanks again Steve.
I found out a downside to CleanMaster that it pays to be aware of. We were travelling interstate last week, so we were using SIM data and/or WiFi where it was available. We seemed to be chewing bandwidth at ridiculously high rates. It took me a while, but I was eventually able to track it back to CM, which was using large amounts of background data (about 1 gig over 2 days). Thankfully I am able to block/turn off background data access for individual Apps.

Why would I want an iPhone?

Yeah, not happy about the price of it, considering I bought my n5 for like $400. But I do love the basic pure Android over skinned versions, plus the updates. And it's so functional these days that I find no need to root my phone anymore. Google Now is fantastic now days and I'd love to have G assistant. The only functionality that is letting me down is the Apple Music app. It's not as functional on Android as Google music (can't even shuffle all your songs from one artist without making a playlist) and it doesn't work at all with Android Auto, Tasker or my Garmin watch. Have submitted feedback to Apple about that, and they actually contacted me and started a chat session, basically just explaining to me how to use the app and sending me a link to the user guide. Couldn't quite grasp I was giving them feedback on features other similar apps have that is missing in theirs.
