I know there are a few in that list that are no chance but figure a small punt to see what happens. Just sussing the sportsbet site out and figure a few bets while I'm checking things out cant be all bad!

Dropped a few shecks on Poulter. Blixt at Dunlop Phoenix. Schwartzel at Africa. Kuchar at HK. Also backing the Mariners to down Victory. All bets courtesy of a win on the last day of the carnival.

I think the best bets you can do are single bets on the A-League on the non-favoured team. They get up so often it's crazy because the skill level is just not there, anyone can beat anyone. Yeah you'll lose a few, but the ones you win will kore than cover that.

I might try a few experiments over the next few rounds. Put $10 on the non-favoured team in each match and see how I come out.

Ok, so round 1 has come and gone from this experiment. Outlayed a $10 wager on the longest paying odds from each game.

Brisbane Roar and Adelaide United both won as faves to kick off the weekend, and I started to think this was a bad idea. Then came the collect on the final 3 matches.

The draw between Melbourne and Central Coast had a tasty $3.30 collect so got my money back for three matches there. This was followed by a nicer collect of Wellington over Newcastle at $4.10 and to top it off was Sydney Wanderers toppling Perth at $5.60!

So there you have it folks, round one done with $50 invested and $130 back in the pocket.

Lets see how round two goes.

Sorry, no, just whatever the highest odds result was. So I think Melbourne was $3.00, Central Coast $2.20 and the draw $3.30, so put $10 on the draw.

No, definitely not.

In a lot of "potentially lopsided" games it's a lot easier for a team to hold on to a draw than to win it.
