Picked up Shamrocker for a $10 place bet. The bloody thing came in at $35 for the win! Can never complain banking a profit though.

    1. Too hung over to tip today
    2. Fields were tough from the outset.

However seeing G69 got another win, i'd like to cut him back down a run.... so i'll check the bureau tomorrow and give my best.
I'll try for 3 on the trot at over 10's hey...

You didn't post it here, Petey. You can't have been too confident.

    Eag's, you've gone cold.

Yeah Kpac there is much more fun in trying to find the winners at decent odds. You are on fire mate keep it going.
I could tip shorties in here all day, but what's the point of that, any clown can do likewise.
I have been mucking around with trifectas the last few weeks, so far I am keeping my head above water.

    Check the thread title again.

I'll pass on any hit tips I have, but it would only be AFL or Tennis.

Sat at home this arvo with some Canadian Club, sky racing on the telly and the betting account in front of me. The two winners I got for the day from this thread were Launay and the first race at Flemington. Managed to finish the day with $210 clear profit just from picking horses through the other races at all the venues. Its amazing how much you can pick up just by listening to the race callers pre jump.

And if you see the callers tipping the third or fourth favourite in a race (usually around the $7 or $8 mark) its usually for a reason. The ones I missed today were usually to the callers selection.

And my eternal hot tip (which i mentioned earlier): anything trained by Peter Moody and ridden by Luke Nolen. You'll never be far away.

I have never backed a Melbourne Cup trifecta, but a friend backed one that paid $7k a few years ago.
Her birthday, her boyfriends birthday, and Mums - but mum was scratched so she took her house number.

    Bam - $7k trifecta

    Unfknbelievable.

Considering how much interest there has been in this thread, how about we organise a day at the races?
Maybe during the Winter carnival sometime, it would be a good laugh to get a group of us together for a few ales while having a punt

Righto, let's see if I can redeem myself from yesterdays dismal performance.
Pakenham Cup Race 7 no 9 Another Prelate $8.50 - Charged home late last start over 1500m beaten only 1.5L, now stepping up to 1750m, drops 4kg & likes Pakenham.
Pakenham Race 8 no 6 Buster Mcgee $6.00 - Held up for a run at a crucial stage last start and only beaten a lip. Won't be great odds, but should go well.

    Sounds good kpac
That was a nice win by Did We Win two starts back at Flemington, if he produces another run like that he should go close.
He was my second tip in this race, but I can't back them all
    Good luck mate.

I actually liked it's run a fortnight earlier in adelaide, got a tip it would go close so i backed it. But didn't think it produce at flemington = egg / face.
There's a few good ones on the books today, but we'll see how this thing goes before i get too confident.
