I didn't get knocked out and it was shit before I withdrew. Other years have been fine, but this year there seems to have been less "sacrificing" made to get matches done.

Let's just extend the date instead of having walkovers, although it may not be deserved in some cases. I think it would be better to have the matches played than have a bunch of forfeits. There is no great reason anymore to have the overall comp finished by the Champs.

I think you need to get over it and move on with your life, DC. There's plenty of other walkovers in the draw.

That will be up to the organiser, I guess. Not that anyone reads rules.

    ^^^^ this

I think people really need to work out if they intend to want to play matches at courses/times that don't really suit them, or just not enter the matchplay at all.

These walkovers really are a blight on the whole comp.

I don't agree with that fully. Some people had no other option but to forfiet.

Unfortunately, it has been said before.

I'm not playing next year because it's too much of a pain in the arse. Sometimes you have to consider you are punishing the wrong bloke if you ban the forfeiters. You make yourself available only to be strung out indefinitely, then when it's least convenient for you, get told the games on, and the you look like the bad guy because you can't make it. It's happened numerous times to numerous members.

Have you also considered Andy that you take the whole thing too seriously? It's supposed to be a fun thing like the rest of the comps.

Far be it for me to blow smoke up AP's back clacker, but he's right. Black & white is the only way to run golf events - social, serious or anything in between.
    Forum needs more banter.

    Fine give Andy more work

Set two weekends for every round (away from a major)with a set course, it would get more of us together.

People can't organise matches over two months. What odds on two weekends?

What do you mean? I haven't banned anyone.

This year's matchplay comp started the earliest it ever has and has the most amount of walkovers. I don't know the answer, but ties have cost a result from happening. Maybe it's a one off this year and it will be fine next year.
