Moe beats Rusty 5 & 3 - I assume this result should be posted here?

Also, if you refuse to play matchplay in a big event and you're both playing that day, it should be a forfeit

^ 4&3. now that Moe's won, i might add that i think he should be DQ'd from the matchplay for not playing pre 1/6/11. he would have been much easier to beat with a broken arm if i'd played him sooner.

    1. the matchplay is all about... playing matchplay, so if it's getting difficult to organise a game that fits both schedules, if both are playing at a big event, the matchplay should take precedence. the other things being played for at the event is POTY and a banner.

    2. players that do get reinstated in the matchplay after losing, should play the subsequent matches with additional shots against them eg. 3 for the first, then 2 thereafter; 3 for all; 3 then 4 then 5...

Pete, this really has me stuffed. What would you do differently in playing matchplay than you would in playing the Nudgee Plate? You are trying to make the lowest score you can on each hole anyway so what is the issue?
    Forum needs more banter.

Ah yes, totally different game in that instance... even on the tee it's a different mind set, as you'd play safe to the middle of the fairway if your opponent was in the soup....

Hang on. What are we? Pros??
I still think both games can be incorporated quite simply.

Tell you what, if i decide i prefer to play matchplay within stroke rounds can i hold back on playing my opponent in all other circumstances?

he's confirmed his availability that day, and I'm available - so it's a deal.

I've sent him a PM to organise.

    The issues is mind set
-In stroke play I wont hit driver as much
-More interested in a 2 putt par then a chance at a one putt birdie
-The shots I try and play from trouble.
-In MP one bad hole doesn't hurt as much.

And then there are the matchplay rules I like that don't apply in stroke. I do not have an issues with match play in a Sunday comp we have a standard pie bet you just loose the rules.

As for matchplay in a major I would prefer not but if it was Moe's only chance then I would play begrudgingly. PS I have made the effort to arrange a gamme and be available in my other rounds. Then Nudge North is my home course.

I have NCR to constraints on MP before but at Nudge the price for a NCR is to high.

Maybe I have the wrong mindset but guess what its a free country so I'm allowed.

5 main draw walk overs, couldn't of hurt to allow spots for lucky losers from the BS qualifing rounds.

    Eagsy (114) - G69 (111).
I would have shot better but I played conservatively late in the game when Eagsy started to disintegrate.
