Yes, introduce a comp fee for the 2011 Champs?
No leave things as they are.

I was half-considering the 2010 Champs, but needed to see how work (and other) situations panned out. After it filled up so quickly, I didn't think any more about it, nor follow the updates in the thread. When reading the 2010-highs-and-lows thread, I was shocked at the 30% drop-out rate.
I suggest a $100 non-refundable deposit, based on a similar social golf club event.
If change of mind, then sell it in the pro-shop. (If illness/family/work emergency, then committee may consider a refund, depending on whether the deposit is needed to pay for the unused tee-time/room.)
ps. I'm planning to join Grunt's champs road-trip next year.
You don't get me. I'm part of the Union.
My answer to the question was a question.

Clearly a winner here. I vote that we Eags makes all the decisions regarding what gets purchased. No arguments that way or Eag's will get on the rum and shash ya!
Eags wins
If it aint for sale the right price has just not been offered
at least 30 people that would/have played in the champs havent voted yet, they might all vote no. Cant declare a result yet.

OK, with 96% of Oz Golfers voting for a comp fee, I think we can safely say it will be introduced next Champs.

If it aint for sale the right price has just not been offered
how do you play in these comps?
do you have to be a good player like im only playing off 21
No Ben. All good mate. If you have an AGU handicap you can play in any event (most of them are open competitions). The champs do not require even that, just a sunny disposition.

cool will have to try and get out with some of you soon. Do you ever play on the gold coast.
im playing mcleod on the 7th November. So what do you class as a good course
Not McLeod
Hope Island is a nice course
McLeod is one of the toughest courses going around. It takes a great player to get their name on the honour board there.
A good course is one that doesn't take $100 out of your wallet/purse, unless it is truly worth it.
McLeod is a goat track.
