    Another well-executed gee-up.

Several weeks ago, Haysey & I planted a seed with Solarman that the fancy golf courses that we would be playing were quite traditional and much stricter than we are used to when it comes to dress regs. We told him that it was either long pants or long socks, hoping that he would take the bait. On arrival at The National GC, we were most amused to see him pull on some awful walk socks in the carpark. Much mirth ensued, before he stormed off to the pro shop. What made it even funnier is that the guy behind the counter told him he couldn't wear them on the course because they were not white.

Look for these socks to appear in the pro shop soon.

Was it really hot or does solarman not own pants? The "no sock" socks look a billion times better than that.

No sock socks are a little, well, Yoss has been known to wear them.

Wow, something in common with you two. Can the universe handle this?

Apparently Courty is the only one in FNQ that owns pants! Haysey and Solarman were playing in shorts in close to arctic conditions.

If you start out depressed everything’s kind of a pleasant surprise.

I would ask why but then again I'm not sure I really want to know.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

Amazingly, I appear to be intact. I have to keep checking to make sure I'm not getting phantom limb sensations.

Pissed myself laughing internally when you told me about the stitchup at STCC the other week; can't (hangon yes I can) believe he fell for it....

Not true; they all think I'm weird coz I where pants up here all the time to keep the midgies at bay... Well actually, no, they just think I'm weird irrespective of pants...

NAGA v the Commonwealth is eerily similar to the winner of the competition, even down to the pitch and tone of the chuckle after the first "shot":

There is a bit of Haysey and Courty in there: Haysey's occasional goatee and Courty's arm protectors and Melbourne long pants!
