I canceled, told them I was going with Kayo.

They called back about a week later and offered to upgrade my box to an IQ4, give me my sports/entertainment package and HD for $29 per month.

It looked shit on my 4k TV with 50mbps NBN. Perhaps there was fine tuning I didn't do when I tried it last year.

Does Kayo give anything that Foxtel doesnt?

Criticism doesn't bother me, as it means I am doing something and people are watching.

Long time Foxtel cable subscriber (from Telstra). I have an old package that is still cheaper than current offers. NBN took over the Telstra Optic Cable in our area and this has screwed the Cable speed and it drops out fairly regularly. The Foxtel Cable signal was always line ball due to poor maintenance, but NBN has pushed it to the brink. So I have been looking at options.

With NBN, now have lots of ISP options. Telstra is our long term carrier and it will be hard to switch away, due to reliability, support and our current bundled pricing.

So have been looking at options.

    Fetch set up seems expensive.

We already stream; Apple, Prime, Netflix, Stan etc

Foxtel is currently our source for Sport, Docos and Drama. We don't have Movies. We currently have an IQ3.

I gather cable isn't fixable, and is no longer an option if we change. Would have to go to Satellite, or IQ4/IQ5 streaming Foxtel Now.

Telstra has released and is spruiking their Wireless Modem 3.

    We have 4K Smart TVs.

Any feedback, or any options I am missing?

Have you forgotten Kayo? or have you wiped it from your list of options for some reason. If you can stream netflix, you can stream kayo.

I know you have 4k sets of golf clubs, but 4 thousand smart TV's seems a bit unnecessary.

It is on the options list as a replacement for Foxtel Sports. But it offers no price advantage over what we pay now, just the ability to assist in an un-bundle. Stan sport is also an option, but seems to be very Football focused.

As it turned out Telstra has an offer for first 12 months on Kayo for $10pm off i.e. $15pm for the Standard and $25pm for the Premium Sub. So I signed up this week and Kayo is looking good! So I have requested Foxtel cancellation and am now awaiting their response.

If you are feeling the pinch after the latest Kayo price rise up to $420 p/y, there is a cheaper solution.

Join as a digital member of an AFL club. The cheapest - according to the thread I saw yesterday - Kayo basic membership is the Kayo Digital GIANT Membership | GWS GIANTS (ticketmaster.com) is GWS at $231, with the rest about $250.

Are IPTV fire sticks very taboo these days? I have heard of some people that have them?? Allegedly very good, ethical issues aside.

Mine's staying at 25 a month, but I only have kayo one, no need for any more than one stream at a time in my current situation.

Kayo basic has also gone down from 3 to 2 streams. Been sharing for 3-4 years with 2 mates, without the membership deal I think I'd give it up.

A relatively recent firmware update on my LG Smart TV brought up many free streaming channels. Most are sh#t but if you scroll through them you might find the PGA Channel!
