Default Golf Course Open Day Thread

Just thought I would remind everyone that there is a thread with plenty of open comps around the SE Qld area listed here:
    http://www.ozgolf.net/forums/showthread.php?t=473

I have made a couple of updates, but I'm sure there are a few that may be outdated.
If you have any to add or update let me know.

If any of the other areas, eg Sydney Area, want to compile a list, we can make a sticky for that too.

Brookwater has introduced Mad Mondays where it's $69 for golf in a cart including range balls. The course is looking pretty good at the moment too.

Pretty good deal. I pay more than that on average.

Isn't it an extra ten bucks or something to join the comp at Brooky in almost every case?

Okay. I'll add it to the stickied thread. I wasn't sure if there was a comp on at all that day.

Just some updates on the comps in toowoomba. Toowoomba City sunday comp is now $12 and does not have a friday back marker at the end of the month anymore. And Toowoomba( Middle Ridge is now $21 (Burger Inc) for the back marker on the 3rd friday of every month still.

Brookwater is having it's annual Brookwater Open on Monday 13th June (Queens Birthday holiday).

$65 for single stroke off the plates, with the pins in tough spots. Good 'value' for money, as you get to play the full course for a change...

3814 5500 option 1 for the pro shop.

(I can't play, as I'm away camping that weekend).

Where you going camping? We are getting into camping as well and would be interested in finding out good options for the future.

Nudgee is now $20 during the week for the comps, still expensive for the goat track that it is.

Haha. They used to be $20, but then put it up to $30. Obviously lost too many visitor comp rounds!!

Not sure, just seen the ad in a local paper. Check with the club if you want to have a hit. Good rate for that course though, its usually a members only course.

I haven't played there, and this seems like a good opportunity.

So, now that it appears that I do this golf thing again, and have a handicap maintenance membership, I'm interested in knowing what open comps are out there, particularly on the weekends.

I've gone back through the old sticky, and greyed everything out, as it has not been updated for a long time, but some parts may still be true.
    https://www.ozgolf.net/showthread.ph...-Qld-OPEN-Days

I booked myself a round for McLeod tomorrow morning. Although their Saturday comp isn't open to visitors typically, if you give them a call on Thursday or Friday, they usually have open spots. 25 bucks isn't too bad either.

After Daves gave a good report on the condition of Windaroo, I gave them a call to see what the go is with their weekend comps. A little bit more expensive that I was hoping, but it might be worth a trip to revisit one of these days.

Usually not too many spots free in the Saturday comp.

I'm trying to find somewhere to play tomorrow, but it's a bit tougher when it is Monthly Medal day. There are plenty of spots available at Brisbane River, but full groups only, which doesn't help me much as a single. It's bloody cheap though at $15 on Saturdays. Apparently the course is a bit dry, as there water got cutoff at some stage, but they are now watering again, however the 14th is currently out of play. I might play there next week, and concede on tomorrow and just do pitch n putt instead.

Sandy Gallop? I'll be looking for a game next Saturday when I'm up there and will probably play Sandy as it's convenient.

I did Sandy Gallop last year, and don't feel the need for a quick return. I could try other options for tomorrow (Ipswich, Rosewood, Ashgrove), but I'm getting carried away with my excitement in playing golf again, and should just stick to one round a weekend, which will be Monday. My neighbour has shown interest in playing Brisbane River next Saturday though.

Played Ipswich recently? I played last Christmas when it was VERY dry, but thought it would be a decent layout if in better condition. I learnt to play golf at the old Ipswich Golf Course in the 90's.
