Well then you just don't tell someone you're making the transfer! I've been flat broke multiple times (even borrowed money from a mate), but embarrassing or not beating around the bush about it doesn't help at all (as this thread will testify).

Check with your bank ASAP, as he may be delaying the refund to get past a deadline.

If it was paid for by Visa, the refund should have been done via Visa. No Bank transfer involved. The Merchant processes a refund via the Credit Card system (a bit like Paypal does). That doesn't mean he couldn't still refund via a BT, it just the way CC refunds are normally done though. Has Jim checked his Visa account?

If it isn't there, then Jim should lodge a stop on the original payment with Visa ASAP.

Maybe you're right! Not trying to excuse him or anything. Being shit isn't an excuse. It's just getting shit.

As a personal example I have a customers job in the shop. When we last spoke i told her her job was nearly finished. Problem is I've lost her contact details. That was over 6 months ago. But in that time she hasn't called me once either! Regardless, when she does, she'll be picking up her job and not paying me a cent for it. This isn't the first time this has happened, and isn't the first time I've handed a job over for nothing. One of these days I'll learn. Maybe ACG will read my post and get an idea...
    Mate,

get yourself organized. Spend a little time on communication and administration each day and you won't be doing jobs for free.

visa direct debit does not provide the same reverse payment options as visa credit, I have looked into that option.

Visa buyer protection for purchases not supplied is 30 days, at 6 months i,m what could be called "past the use by date"

Refund was credited to my A/c overnight, 6 months to the day.
I received the same wedge from another supplier todays ago, 7 days after ordering, it was also $67. 25 cheaper.

    good to hear than Jim1945.

So the myth about taking 6 months to order an "exotic" wedge is busted, right?

Good for you, Jim, but I'm concerned that this thread may die now. Can someone else order something now please?

I think its a given that sadly there will be others that wont see this thread before they have dealings with the individual to make a more informed choice or take the risk.
It wont be until they google search after all the stuff around and porkies starts that they will find this thread and add their tale of woe.
