I felt adventurous, so have ordered a couple of things from ACG. I couldn't find them retail elsewhere, so took the chance. I will post my experience, hopefully in the not too distant future!

Unfortunately not it would seem. A month later and nothing. Mtb let me know he was initially OS, and then in hospital after a dose of bali belly, but my order, plus 2 follow up emails have gone unanswered. I subsequently ordered the items, plus others direct from Golf Mechanix and got them inside a week.

Wasn't Bali belly but something requiring surgery and removal of a few bits and nearly a month in hospital. I''ll give him a rev when I see him next though

Did you read the post immediately above yours?

Two weeks ago, I shipped some shafts, heads, and grips to Newcastle, 5 working days later I had in my hands 4 brand new golf clubs all stuck together the way I like them.
The contact info on the website its correct.

    Cool thanks.

I can't decide to order it straight from Golfsmith or off him.

Careful when dealing with with ACG. I found the service and communication to be about the worst I've come across. Never again.

In persone he's a great bloke but I'll be buggered how he runs a business.

Pretty sure he had no back room guys when I dealt with him. I bought my miuras off him and went for a fitting before the Queensland champs two years ago. Couldn't fault his knowledge and the fitting process.

There was follow up re a couple of clubs. Intermittent replies, broken promises and crap excuses followed for months. And I was so patient too. It was like the big sale was done, couldn't be bothered with smaller follow up orders. So I stopped asking and never heard from him again.

Have gone through someone else now. Shame. Wasa nice bloke. Would've like to have supported him.

I staggers me that more than 3 years since my original post the Customer Service is no better.

I can only conclude that he has far too much business

Sorry I should've been clear that I was going to ring him to see if he had what I wanted in stock and I'll go and pick it up, I wouldn't order it in or get him to send it.

Boys give Gaz a break one man has only 2 hands!!
Gaz is one of the best club builders you will find, build a realationship with him and you will never look back.
I have been up and meet him and can not speak highly enough of him.
I spoke to Gaz about some of the raps he gets and he went through a time when his laptop got stolen and SCREWED him bad and his customers.
All I can say is give him a shot

D22 I think you might be missing the point. It's obvious from this thread that many have used (attempted) his services.

No one has questioned his ability as a club builder, it's his customer service that needs some work.

I think something you noted in the thread above is very important, that being "building a relationship ". Most people will be challenged to do this due to experiences they have had, me included

Yet there are others reporting good experiences with him, even on the same page.I spent a day in his shop and it was like central station. So many people just walking in because they have heard good things as well as many other repeat customers. Though some just wanted to chat. If he got a liquor licence it would be the place to be !

Thanks for the affirmation! I won't use anyone else.

The point is that its pretty clear that not everyone has an issue. I understand some people have but to be fair a blanket hand wave that nothing has changed is a bit unreasonable.

Mark I understand you have a longstanding relationship with him, so you will support him, that is fine.

And quite frankyl I'm not interested in getting into a debate with you over his ability to service his client base.

May he live long and prosper

I am not debating. If I was ripped by someone I am not shy in letting everyone know too, so I am not begrudging your right to do the same

. I just don't think your blanket comment was fair based on what a few others said without taking into account the positive reports and that he nearly carked it not so long ago.you dont have to agree, i am just putting another persons perspective on it for the viewing public

I don't know why you blokes have hassles when others don't, and the service I get from him is over the top. Plus he gives me cheap prices and throws in free shit. Probably because I am such a nice person and easy to deal with.

Mark think I will get along with you very well as I never hold my tongue either, it can be good and bad!! Ha haThe first meeting with Gaz I got my shimada shafts good price fitted and he spent 3 hours with me going over my swing, equipment and just generally shooting the shit. From then on I have pestered him a lot and at all times he never is short or not wanting to help out. Can't wait to have a hit with him

I have just had an epiphany! Too many people are in his shop dribbling and pestering him so he can't get to his emails.
