They are pricey but it replaced 5-6 appliances

    1 juicer gone
    2 slow cooker gone
    3 blender gone
    4 rice cooker gone
    5 bread maker gone

    Thats $500-700 there

It steams also - so steam pots not needed

It can make a sponge mixture and can crush ice....To sharpen the blades - you chuck some ice blocks in and crush them - this sharpens them.

The intention of this appliance is to buy raw ingredients like wheat - to make your owm flour. Make our owm muesli bars in Minutes from nuts-grains - cereal.

Makes our own jams, pesto, sauces, curry paste.

Want some juice - throw the oranges in whole - dont even peel them - seeds and peel get crushed to liquid.

    Its a beast!!

Bingo. I already have those 5 appliances missing from the kitchen.

As I tell the local take-away staff ... 'I keep the cleanest kitchen in the suburb'.

ps. What's a 'raw ingredient'? Is that the stuff in the Macaroni Cheese packet?

I have those 5 appliances. Replacing them with one would free up a heap of cupboard space!

Buy brand new. Better support. We know about 10 people who have had theirs longer than ours.

    No one regrets buying one.

...and the golf credits I got buying it for the Mrs.

Don't like it as a juicer - creates a slurry. Their curry recipes are not that great.

Soups and mash are brilliant. Through vegetables, stock in and you have soup.

Breads and pizza dough are tops.

Got to crush for longer on juices.

Love making icecream from frozen bananas....Add cream, maple syrup - level 8 for 30 seconds or so.

We make our own curry paste from seeds - crush/grind into a curry paste.

Use soft speed (reverse) for asian dishes.

I'll check with Lesley to see what she does. I meant the curry recipes are rubbish.

She always makes her own spices. She may still use her mortar and pestle as its been seasoned.

Saving that idea for another time, thanks. Ended up doing the Paella, but did a double batch and split it at the end. One batch was finished as Prawn and Chorizo, the other Chicken and Chorizo Paella. They both got the big thumbs up, and enough left over for another couple of frozen meals of each in the freezer.

I'm having rissotto tonight. One of my fave recipes (or signature dishes)

Portobello mushrooms (and some dried porcini as well)
Shallots (NOT spring onions, proper shallots!)
    Leeks
    Fresh asparagus
    Goats cheese (soft curd)
    Parmesan
    Roast chicken (optional)
Chicken stock (or Vegetable if not using chicken)

Cut the 'woody' ends off the asparagus and put in the stock.

Fry the finely diced shallots, a little garlic (maybe 1/2 clove), finely diced white end of the leeks, the central part of the asparagus stalks and all the mushrooms in butter. Season.

Add some white wine to deglaze, and cook until almost gone. Remove from pan.

Fry the green end of the leeks in a separate frypan. Put aside with the uncooked asparagus tips.

Add the arborio rice and fry until translucent, gently adding boiling stock a little at a time and allowing each amount to absorb. About halfway through, add the cooked mushroom/leek/asparagus mix back into the pan. Break in some cooked chicken and add some of the the fried leek and asparagus tips.

Continue to add the stock until complete, and make sure the risotto is still quite moist. Stir through the goats curd and parmesan.

Serve immediately, top with shaved parmesan (and for extra indulgence some crisp proscuitto), a cherry tomato and any of the remaining fried leek.

Have with a nice oaked Chardonnay or perhaps a matured Reisling!!!
