God damn it. Tapatalk is closed from Feb 1 to Feb 9.

I see they didn't like the first place that you posted the issue AP.

It is now in a forum where only the reporter and developers can read it. No real progress, except that they are surprised that our hosts shut the Tapatalk file down when we are a relatively small forum.

did the script that is used to run tapatalk on our server exceed a certain threshold? my company has experienced similar a few times with the shared server we host on.

The load it was producing was affecting other websites.

not much you can do about that except to change servers. The host simply has to put limits on certain processes otherwise all other sites become degraded. I think on ours we have been busted with email sending and something to do with what the sql database does, but the host just unblocked us immediately and we manage our stuff to not encroach on the limits anymore.

We can't afford to change host. And it wouldn't be needed if Tapatalk change the way they do things, or so the host says.

The forum is very usable via 3G using Tapatalk where as it is hopeless trying to view the forum with a phone browser over 3G.

Que? I'm using Safari on iPhone and Telstra 3G, and don't have any issues.

Tapatalk is fast and great for quick browsing. You can easily use a browser over 3g, and I do for some forums, but there's no need to resize in tapatalk and I think it loads much faster and a smaller load.

Telstra would be the only 3g that would be ok, and maybe some rare and uncrowded optus cells
But tapatalk would still be much faster.

Not really. They say they are addressing some performance issues in the next version, however that doesn't mean it will address our issue or when that version will be.

I can put you in touch with clikchic, if you want, Virge. She takes care of the server stuff, which includes hosting her own site with ours.
