    Default Sun 21 March Gailes 12:24pm - Vegas vs X-Ray Rd1 Matchplay

First round matchplay between X-Ray and BrisVegas. Room for two more. It's a single stab and $15. Gailes seems to cope with rain pretty well so should be in reasonable nik even if the cyclone crosses the coast.

    Scores:-

    Vegas 39 (won on countback!)
    Iain 39
    Henno 37
    xray 36

that was quick! There's plenty of empty tee times if others want a game. Just give Gailes a call on 3271 2333.

    See you Sunday gents.

Matchplay is confirmed. BrisVegas versus X-Ray. 7hcap vs 25 hcap. At least I don't have to work out the indices!

Question with matchplay. IS max handicap 18 or how does it work - same as normal stroke index so you can get 2 shots on a hole if you have hcp of 19+?
    Cheers

nah it is against your opponent, so it is the handicap difference that matters. Then the shots are applied according to the match play index (eg you off 18 play henno off 13, you get 5 shots, applied at holes 1-5 on the match index).

We all had our moments. Xray was par 3 king. Henno was bombing it. Iain had run of 3 pointers and I had couple of birds. Good day out with good people. Can't ask for more.

Some pretty reasonable golf played today on all parts. Dion was 5 better than his handicap when the match was won, and he pretty much had to shoot that well just to beat X-ray who had two 4 pointers in his round. Although both Iain and I also had a 4-pointer each as well. I had a brain fade with 3 holes to go (two cold tops and a shank on one hole and hit the wrong ball on the next while in the greenside bunker for two) and ruined an otherwise good score. I also had a million putts (36 I think), despite hitting greens with some regularity. Good fun though, with good company. Oh, and I didn't get rained on for the first time in about 6-8 weeks of golf!

Thanks for the round guys. Certainly some good golf played. Good to meet Xray, he certainly won't be off 25 for long.

Lucky I birdied the 16th after Henno gave me shit!!

Do you mean the "Haven't you had a birdie yet? You'd better hurry the f*** up" comment? We'd all had one, Dion had a couple, you were due!

Not yet. It's a long drive to Gailes for me. I only just picked up my rocks from Keperra from a month or two ago.

Yeah, I've got a few clients in and around the Sumner Park area. I'll probably pop in next time I'm out there, but I'm in no rush. I already have a cupboard full of Pinnacle rocks, or whatever shitty ball they're giving away.
