    Default Golflink Query

    Gents

Sorry for what may seem a stupid question.

My current golf club membership has now lapsed and I am in between clubs.

How long is my Golflink going to stay active for, if that makes sense

    Thanks in advance

I think its meant to be 12 months.

Im not sure on what the rules are though with playing while your not a member.

Im gathering that you cant play in comps but the handicap will stay there for up to 12 months if you want to transfer it to another club.

As long as your old club doesn't kill the record it will stay there.

The requirement to maintain a handicap of having at least 3 scores current in the last 12 months is suspended at present, as part of the new handicap system introduction I believe. That would suggest to me that there is no time limit till that changes.

A friend played in a 4bbb a couple of weeks ago and he and his partner got 41 points. His handicap dropped 3.3 shots.

He has been credited with a score of 79 gross, 60 nett.

He doesn't understand and neither do I. Even if he got 41 pts individually it wouldn't have been that big a drop.

    Are we missing something here?

Sounds like a stuff up. A 4ball card has to be 42 points or more and the golfer has to be on the card 9 times or more to get handicapped.

even if the handicap is lapsed and deleted off the system, the fellow in question has an obligation to report to his new club what his last handicap was and when, and they will apply the handicap correctly according to the rules.

If he is not forthcoming in revealing the old handicap, he is a scoundrel!

I held back from saying dirty and rotten.

p.s. that is actually provided some wonderful suggestions for the swear filter, instead of replacing words with **** use some of those examples instead.

I like the idea, but it's a generic replacement of characters for any banned word.

The GolfLink number will stay valid as long as Pine Rivers leave it there. They can kill it off (or lapse it) whenever they feel like it now that you are unfinancial. Most clubs are too slack to do it straight away.
    Forum needs more banter.

    Thanks for that.

Not trying to be a scoundrel, just wanted to ensure I could continue to use my Golflink Card to play in Open comps until I sort out a new club.

If your number gets deleted, just use Hux's number. He could use the good rounds!
