This one has some plans, and you can get passed the 'sign up to read more' by scrolling back and forth a bit... https://www.murraybridge.news/p/murr...club-expansion

That would be a big waste of money as the kike is well and truly established all around the course and no doubt over their fence line so they would be forever chasing it infesting good couch.
The course beat up is about 2 new holes really. Fail to see how this will transform the course into South Australia's premier regional Golf course. Over hyped beat up IMHO. Anything that gets rid of some of the six Par 3's can only be a good thing.

Hatch they could do what West Lakes have done and have the kike as rough/1st cut

Yeah after reading the article sounds like the 2 mill is more around building housing land than the actual course re-design

Still stand by what I said it being a waste of money for Murray Bridge chasing the spread.
They don’t have the ongoing budget or manning for it.

Default SA 'heaps good' Course thread

A few weeks ago managed to sneak out (away from the family) to Attamurra (Mount Gambier) GC.

The course has improved but most noticeable was the amount of housing that surrounded the course since I last played it. Some impressive routing and tree clearing has opened up playing lines and I was reminded on how good the green shapes are.

Probably the only thing holding this course back a bit are some severe sloping fairways in certain areas. But in summary this is an impressive country track and one that I rate highly.

Snap! I played there Wednesday. Agreed, the course is greatly improved. I don't mind the elevation changes (there's more at Blackwood IMHO), but I did find the turf on some of the fairways a bit sparse, which is annoying, especially when it's damp.

    The 163m par 3 10th.

    Approach to the par4 5th.

    The Iconic 136m par3 8th.

My tee shot on the 8th!

    While I'm on a roll..
    Played Whyalla in April.

Also in much better condition than when I played here previously.

    The 1st.

Looking back towards the clubhouse from the 1st green.

From memory this was the elevated 8th tee block.

Yeah it was pretty soggy HP when I played it but that’s winter for you. I love the back right pin on 3, drop shot on 8 and most of the back 9. Some really good uphill Par 5’s from memory

It couldn't be Waikerie TC, there are bunkers to the left and right of the green in the first picture.

Whilst I note some defining characteristics re climate and soil, I have no idea where this is.
I'll be disappointed if I should know the answer....

I used my PC with maximum magnification. My eyes couldn't see it without that magnification.

    Not Keith!

There are 2 greenside bunkers to the left and right of the green (which in the middle background), in the first photo but admittedly they don't show up in the photo due to distance. No bunker is in the second photo.

Not even close TC (in so many ways!)

There is a twist to this tale.

    I'll reveal all soon enough.

    Coffin Bay?

I've been thinking of doing a Whyalla Port Augusta weekend soon. I haven't played either course and Port Augusta looked from road on the way to Coober Pedy.

No not Coffin Bay or Port Lincoln either.

One more guess and I'll reveal.

    Like I said, there's a twist....

Pt Augusta is good but Whyalla seems to be in better condition atm.

And re TC's guess, not Pt Augusta but you got the right idea regarding the kind of terrain it's on.
