Why would anyone bother punching him? The rest of the country would never notice if the WA border was open or closed anyway.

He was smart enough to send airline crews into controlled quarantine, something that NSW didn't until now.

I’d love to. I bet the two plane loads of people who were quarantined mid air would too.

Effectively rules out going home to my sisters wedding in February.

He warned people about flying a couple days before closing the border. You should be fine to travel by Feb.

The safety of the state is paramount, and what he is doing has been very effective. A couple months ago it was reported that he had a 91% approval rating. That's got to be second to our little chubby mate in North Korea.

Great comparison North Korea and WA, both populaces brain washed into believing they have a supreme leader and derided by those outside their bubbles.

Apparently not in NSW, 13 of them got $1000 fines for leaving their hotel.

I just like the fact that it's been BAU here for ages. Haven't had a case in the community in about 7 or 8 months and we can pretty much live a normal life.

Why risk it if we don't have to?

Do you think WA can survive on its own two feet?

Taking it a touch on the extreme here, but the $100 billion in yearly iron ore exports would help things greatly.

yep - he is spewing about that, he had no idea he could have got out too. I got no chance of getting him to drop my stuff of at a post office now.

Maybe both need to sit down and actually read your own state budget on where the majority of your states money comes from.

Unfortunately I cant take the risk, I think the case count in SA was <10 when they closed shop there mid-air.

I am hesitant to spend $$ on flights for the family only for a small outbreak in SE QLD around Australia Day to derail any chances of getting out of Cairns without quarantine.

If McGowan had shown some sense of reasoning in the decision making you could assume that direct fights from Cairns would be safe - unfortunately that hasn’t been the case.

Hence a wallop in the chops would be enjoyable.

Haha, we have been accusing the upper middle middle class hippies and anti vaxxers from Avalon of ruining things.

If anyone hasn't seen it, this is a "reasonable" representation of Avalon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNXfsXe0bQA

The rest of the country should be grateful this outbreak started in Avalon. I’m surprised it even made it to Manly. Northern Beaches folk don’t even travel to other parts of the Northern Beaches, let alone the rest of Sydney. They’re allergic to bridges.
