I haven't seen them mentioned yet, so I'll assume they haven't been. And I'm ashamed to only be thinking of them now....

But the great Mark Hunter and Dragon, one of the great aussie bands of the 80's. Dreams of Ordinary men is still a killer track, and I don't think I've ever been in a band that didn't play April Sun in Cuba!

    Anthrax followed by Spandau Ballet.

There's a playlist never seen before.

after seeing Tears for Fears and Spandau Ballet on Saturday night all I can say is EPIC....the best gig I've been to in a long, long time (except the mighty maiden)

Spandau Ballet just rattled of hit after hit for two hours

Couldn't agree more Bruce. I thought that TFF were solid, and that SB would be out the back a bit nervous. I have seen some 80's acts that have sucked...and then they came on and were spectacularly good. No other word for it. Hadleys' voice was great, wasn't it?

Pity about the ambient noise...which was excessive during the acoustic songs (where I was anyway). Completely stuffed up Through The Barricades a bit for me. Also don't quite understand the Perth publics' desire to ALWAYS get smashed. Unbelieveable!!! There was one guy near me who face planted twice in the act of his 'dancing' (including taking out a lady)...it was Spandau Ballet FFS.

One problem was that TFF didnt play for long enough - they should have played for much longer. How good was the back up singer for TFF as well?

SB were very good too, Hadley can still belt the tunes out.

I agree about the drinking thing too TF, got me beat why they want to get smashed or even want to drink over inflated priced wine out of plastic wine bottles. Sheesh, sacrilege.

Another problem was the stoopid plastic chairs only fit for pre schoolers and jammed in like sardines. I am still trying to iron the kinks out of my body after sitting on them for over 6 hours.

Apart from those gripes, still an awesome concert and would happily go and see them again. I have been a TFF fan since the 80s.

Hey Cosmopolite, can you remember the set list for TFF?

I have heard this it; Mad World, Everybody Wants To Rule The World, Secret World, Sowing The Seeds Of Love, Floating Down The River, Pale Shelter, Break It Down Again, Head Over Heels, Woman In Chains and Shout.

    Yep.

When Woman In Chains started I turned to my mate and said "Who's gonna sing Oleta Adams part?"

Then the guy sang it...WHOA...a bit freaky, but good! Wonder where his balls were during that? Under his earlobes I expect.

While on the subject of 80's bands and performances...Simple Minds were excellent last time they were here (supporting INXS, with J.D, at The WACA). So many good songs too...Waterfront, Glittering Prize, Ghostdancing, Belfast Child, Don't You (Forget About Me) and so on...

Anyone else here a fan of Bon Jovi? I like his songs quite a bit, such as "It's my Life", "Living on a Prayer, and "You Give Love a Bad Name."

Bon Jovi is a band, who have released the songs you mentioned. Jon Bon Jovi is the lead vocal.

Those songs are good for a retro listen.
