And actually a bit torn about the Nadal time-wasting thing. Read an article years and years ago about how Nadal deliberately takes his time between serves just to play mind games with his opponents, so fair game if Kyrgios is willing to stick it to him and call him out on it

Bianca Andreescu has a huge win at Indian Wells beating Kerber in the final. Hopefully she keeps banging lots of forehand winners instead of guys on the tour like her predecessor Eugene.

Well i caught most of the doubles yesty. Stosur after a couple of singles wallopings was looking like the weak link in the dubs. With Barty like a rock Sam's serve was usually tough to hold and she missed a few important shots at pressure times. Lo and behold when push came to shove not long after the start of the deciding set Stosur suddenly grew two feet taller and barely missed another shot, holding a crucial serve with aplomb and smashing returns and groundstrokes with barely another error all set. Fantastic effort from Stosur i have to say. On to the final.

The reflex volley off that smash transformed her into wonder women.

I may have missed that! So she pulled off a blinder shot and went from strength to strength from there?

Amazon chick cranked one as pure as a chick could hit it straight at Sam from sevice line to a metre inside service line. Reflexed it like vintage Lew Hoad would. From then on she was the best player on court.

I was in and out and missed that. A Hoad special for sure with those reflexes of his and wrists of steel. Very happy for her.

It reminded me of a very similar tube at Wimbledon except the chick spun and was hit right in the arse full throttle. Very early days for McEnroe as a commentator and he was a quest in the booth.
"I hope she returns that ball when she passes it tomorrow"😀😀

Great win by the Aussie team, Stosur’s singles ranking may have dropped but her doubles ranking is still top 20.

It was a great atmosphere yesterday and tense or exciting at times. I thought Stosur was good in the doubles. I was actually questioning some of Barty's serving at times, as it wasn't to the standard from the singles and didn't seem to be going to the right places.

I can't see why we can't get France with the Garcia/ Mladenovic combination. Barty would be favourite to win both singles again, and we would be a better chance of winning another singles rubber

At home we should have a good shot. Be interesting to see who ends up our second singles player by then.

Unfortunately, we can't play Tomljanovic who is the second highest ranked. Astra Sharma is the only other one outside the current team who should be considered, but she would need to have some impressive results.

She'd be handy that's for sure. It would be nice to apply some pressure in that second singles spot.

How good is Barty? Somehow she found her way through a very tense semi final.

Andy, she is the shining light in Australian tennis. Not much on the women's side, the men's side has 2 asshats hogging the limelight, when deminaur and others should be front and center.

Her father , Rob Barty, is a good mate of mine. Local boy from North Qld who was one of the best golfers produced in the region. Was in the state junior team for a few years also.

Good tactics to take her opponent off the boil after losing the first set. Start the second set with 12 basic errors so the other chic thinks victory is a sure thing and starts seeing herself in the final. Then play solid and she becomes chokeandit'sova.😀

Two fantastic shots in that match by the young chic.
1/ The slice backhand pass was the best I've seen since Ken Rosewall.Wow! Super impressive.
2/ The counter dropshot 5th matchpoint down. Another wow!

Another great shot was a short angle flick crosscourt backhand that put Ash almost into the front row.
Look up best rally Lendl and Medvedev to see how you counter a shot like that.

That dropshot took some nerve. Crazy good for a seventeen year old.
