Ok let me debate your bs
Alex Demonoff zero wins out of 15 matches with top 20 players
Nick defears each of the dominent top 4 players(Nadal, Federer, Murray and Joker) 1st time he played them,

You can call it BS all you want. You are more than welcome to tell me that nk's head is on perfect for a top level Pro tennis player. I will continue to disagree. I hope for himself he gets it there. If he doesn't, he will still always do well for himself but he won't reach the pinnacle he could get to. I hope for himself, if he actually wants to get there (and that's plenty debatable, even from his own comments) that he can. I could care less about stats etc. All I'm debating is mindset, and that it's crucial. You are welcome to slag off at me, tell me I'm full of shit, that I don't know jack shit (certainly not about tennis, plenty about mindset). Go your hardest. Nothing will convince me to change my mind.

We might be forgetting how much Hewitt was (arguably is) an A-grade asshat.

Even if you think their talents are lacklustre, many a career has been eeked out by simply playing the villain.

Ok I was talking talent not the eye of the tiger mate.
I totally agree with your comments regarding mindset.

To me the greatest players are the ones that would always fill
a stadium all around the world.
    Federer and Agassi
Most amazing players player is McEnroe as more players sat in the stadium to watch him than any other.
Greatest mindset is Lendl and Borg and both were judged tobe f,,,,ng boring.

Yeah, maybe you need to reread my posts! My comments have always been regarding mindset; pretty sure I even said if his head was in the right place he could be number one.

Your greatest players list, I would totally agree with everything you say. Probably my personal favourite shot in tennis was Sampras's down the line backhand.

I think mine is the same as just about everyone else on the planet, sadly: Federer's graceful no-look one-hander backhand.

Actually, Ferrins made a post about talent, and you debated it by talking about mindset.

Anyway, Kyrgios at least gets people talking about tennis. Barty makes it into the quarter finals (first Aussie to do it since you know who), and none of you mention it.

Yes, I just found a report on her doing that in the 2017. You can't expect a shrieking drug cheat Russian to be sportsmanlike though.

It was all relevant ap. Talent clearly only gets you so far without the right mindset. Michael Chang and Hewitt both reached no.1, and I'm assuming both had significantly greater mindsets than talent. Not knocking either, I just don't remember either having a stockpile of great winning shots etc, but ran things down and didn't seem to give up.

Are you deliberately undervaluing their talent to make a point about imaginary “mindset”? They were both ridiculously talented.

I’m sure there millions of kids in the world who are told, and believe, from a very young age they’re destined to be the best in the world yet get nowhere near it.

You can have whatever mindset you like, talk yourself into believing anything but you’ll never beat Usain Bolt in a 100m sprint.

Not really. No one is debating that his mindset isn't right. His talent however is phenomenal.
By the way, Chang never made it to #1. He got within one win of it though.

There's no doubt Nick has immense talent. That's what the fuss is about. Booming serve and groundstrokes, good touch and a pretty quick set of wheels. Demon has to work so much harder and to go further he will have to get a bit more out of his serve or forehand. He needs a bit more of a weapon of some sort and more free points. Whether that's possible remains to be seen. He's a bit under gunned like Hewitt ended up after the game powered up. I like Popyrins game he's got a lot there to work with.

I caught almost all of Barty either on tv or radio. It got tight toward the end but she hung tough and closed out a fantastic win. She goes to the slice backhand a lot but gets consistently good depth on it. So calm and likable.

Tiafoe - Nadal should be a good watch.

Stand corrected on Michael Chang, I thought he snuck the no.1 once.
I stand behind everything else I've said. If mindset is imaginary why isn't NK in the top 10? And I've agreed previously that his ability is outstanding. He could be no.1.

Yes they were both ridiculously talented over all. They had the right balance of all aspects of the game for them. Do I believe either had the arsenal of Sampras, Federer, Nadal or even Kyrgios? No. Did that stop them reaching no.1 (or 2 (thanks ap))? No.

I have no interest in racing bolt. He's a better soccer player than me too, but I'll still sleep tonight. The point your trying to make regarding mindset is moot. It is one aspect, and a pretty major one. You are more than welcome to disagree with me. You can consider me a mad hatter and talking out my arse. You won't be the first person, and sure as hell won't be the last. But so far I agree with everything I've said; if you don't, so what?

Got to love that match compared to the baseliner battlers. Great win for the young buck.
