US Open crowds (no matter the sport) seem to be top shelf douchebags.

Djokovic delivered me a handy little earner though. Had him at $4 to win in straight sets.

    Solid gritty win by Novak.

She talks like a child at times.

I actually watched the whole match yesterday afternoon, which is quite easy to do on SBS On-Demand when you can skip ahead 10s in between points and not miss any action. It takes less than an hour.

Osaka smashed Williams in that first set. What seems to be forgotten is that Williams was a break down in the second set when she copped the first code violation, and evened it up despite that. She lost her shit after smashing the racquet and getting the second code violation, as she apparently believed that she was the first person to ever change an umpire's mind and reverse the first violation. It's also worth noting that the game that Williams was penalised was Osaka's serve. Okaka's level of concentration during the whole thing was amazing, and makes her win even greater.

The American commentators like to claim that it is part of the character of the event. I heard them say this after one particular douchebag called out just before a player was about to smash a ball.

Oh yeah? Well, my rusted out gutters, broken downpipes, and hammering taps are now officially just part of the character of my house. They add value.

    Latest gossip

Barty is straight and has a biyfriend in case you thought that she was a dyke.

Hewitt is in charge of tennis development and has dished out the AO wildcards. He also has a management company and put the squeeze on players to sign or no Melbourne wildcard. Hewitt also took the liberty to give himself a doubles wildcard as another $5000 + in his back pocket would cover a few lunches in the Bahamas.( Well actually he would claim them with Tennis Australia any way)Kokkinakis declined and had to qualify while Bernard and Nick have no interest in signing or even just talking with him in general. Conflict of interest for Australia's great tennis guy, just ask him.

I did think that it was strange that Kokk didn't get a wildcard, as he would get bums on seats unlike someone like Polmans, Duckworth, or Bolt. The whole wildcard system is a bit of a scam anyway.

The press reckons they fell out after Hewitt chose Millman over Kokk in 2017 and Kokk sulked as he was ranked higher. Apparently Millman was playing better tennis hence the choice.

Yep, Ferrins with the early scoop.

By the way, a first round loser gets $75,000, so we're not talking small change here.

It was only a matter of time before someone put it out there. Got to admit though it gives me a chuckle to see Bernard giving him the blast.

I never thought I’d side with Tomic in anything.

No one mentioned that Tomic lost in the first round? Seems his post match interview tactic worked.

It's not like he was expected to beat a guy that made two grand slam finals last year.

    Q. Do you support Lleyton remaining at Davis Cup captain?
THANASI KOKKINAKIS: I'm not answering that.

Hopefully, he'll say something later or Kyrgios will in his post match press conference.

With Hewitt mostly in denial the coming days will certainly be interesting. Davis Cup might potentially be between a rock and a hard place.

Kyrgios didn't really weigh in, except to say that he is available for "Davis Cup", but doesn't think that he will be picked due to form.

Ebden, who hasn't been in the squad several times, despite being one of the higher ranked Australians, said that there were some issues.

It is the Jordan Thompson selections that I keep scratching my head at.

If it's just Tomic and Kyrgios saying this (with Tomic putting words into Kkokinakis's mouth) I'd be ignoring it. K speaking up would probably then have more people listening.
