This will be similar to the Wimbledon 1984 finall between McEnroe and Connors. McEnroe had a point to prove as does Novak now. That was a spanking in the 1st degree.
Three big sporting regrets for me with missing the 1984 final being one of them. Was in town and had a ticket but decided to spend some down time with a Texas lass at my housing in Surbiton Surrey instead. That no doubt was one of her non sporting biggest regrets for a different reason.

Fair enough. 84 was a clinic, possibly Mac's peak performance. I just can't see Nadal getting blown off the court the way he's playing. Time will tell.

    Brian: Did you say "ex-leper"?
Ex-Leper: That's right, sir, 16 years behind a veil and proud of it, sir.
    Brian: Well, what happened?
    Ex-Leper: Oh, cured, sir.
    Brian: Cured?
Ex-Leper: Yes sir, bloody miracle, sir. Bless you!
    Brian: Who cured you?
Ex-Leper: Jesus did, sir. I was hopping along, minding my own business, all of a sudden, up he comes, cures me! One minute I'm a leper with a trade, next minute my livelihood's gone. Not so much as a by-your-leave! "You're cured, mate." Bloody do-gooder.
Brian: Well, why don't you go and tell him you want to be a leper again?
Ex-Leper: Uh, I could do that sir, yeah. Yeah, I could do that I suppose. What I was thinking was I was going to ask him if he could make me a bit lame in one leg during the middle of the week. You know, something beggable, but not leprosy, which is a pain in the ass to be blunt and excuse my French, sir.

I think it's funny thinking of Nadal as an underdog.

It was a good sook at the end of the second set. I was looking forward to another meltdown at the end of the third, but it didn't eventuate.

She comes across as very arrogant. Could be just a perception but i found it very hard to take to her.

She had the meltdown and came back to win. Pretty impressive.

So Mr Ferris. One thing I've never really known with the tennis stroke; I'm wondering if you could explain the pros and cons of double handed backhand versus single?

Generally my favourite men's players have been the serve volley type; Sampras, Federer, Rafter etc etc. I guess I'm not into big rallies. But they also seem to play one handed backhand.

I've always wondered, but never asked anyone what the benefit of two handed was? It seems the mainstay of women's play, and very much men's as well now? Was it Agassi and his scintillating return of serve that popularised it with the men's game?

Shorter backswing with the doublehander allows them to get onto the ball earlier. Agassi return for example. Under attack with pace it is easier for them to hit crosscourt.

Single handed has more variety in their stroke making.

If it was golf single handers are the one's that use blades.

So they can generate the same sort of power with the shorter backswing two-handed? Cause they all seem to hit it pretty hard.

Can you call it a Grand Slam title when you win a four man round robin?
