Federer and The Joker both pumped, what were the odds on that.

Good for men's tennis, but it creates little interest for me. I would have loved Federer to be in with a shot to win one more.

Agree on all counts. Federer would be dirty not getting to the final with the Joker out but at the end of the day he was smashed.

If youd got on this combo of players making the mens final at the start of the tournament you would be on at 5000-1

For sure. Even going into the semi's that double would have paid nicely.

First men's grand slam final since 2005 Aus. Open, that didn't contain either Federer, Nadal or Djokavic.

I just saw that. How good is it, as Andy said nice to see a change. The women have had so many different finalists in the same period.

Watching the highlights Cilic will be very hard to beat if he gets his serve going as it was today.

Is it the 20/20 of tennis? How long does a match last? 20mins? (10mins for women)

Baret's on sunrise this morning commented that Stosur is in searing form. Didn't she lose in the first round of the Bris? And hasn't she just one the one match now? So not losing in the first round is searing?

The coverage was shithouse, but I think it might work at the grassroots level and that was the whole point of it. That said, I remember playing a similar format as a junior anyway.

Goughy, you lost me when you said Sunrise. Got any Kochie quotes while you are at it?

The reason Stosur won is because she was the underdog playing someone that had a 9-2 record against her. If she was favourite she would have choked.

The system itself is good. Like people said it's what has been around for ages but it's trying to get all comps and courts in line. The X point and other variants are all slightly different. It's good to watch (was there last night) and really makes you hold serve.

Tennis has gone the same way as golf with technology. It's a power hitter game with no touch.

The match was the sooo rigged. Was pretty much able to guess who was going to win which game. Federer is playing very well at the moment. Ordinarily, Hewitt would be lucky to win a game let alone go the full 5 with him. The 5 sets worked out nicely with the allotted coverage time too. I know it was for charity, but still.

I think Fast4 will have a future in juniors, seniors, in charity events with legends of the game and social hits. Nothing more.

unless you come to the net.

Fast4 wasn't fast enough for me. They should eliminate the 2nd serve. Make it the first to 3 games.

Coming to the net helps, but with the amount of spin you can put on a ball now with poly strings and modern frames, the lob and short angles aren't much problem for good players.

No 2nd serve would be good for better players, not so much for social hits.

Another option is having each set as 13 point (first to 7 points) tie breakers which eliminates the game scoring, allows each player serves and change of ends and it would be quick

Not sure why Stosur doesn't just skip the Aussie summer circuit.
