Yeah bit of a joke considering her $1.5m paycheck
She is still on probation from 2009 for ripping into that lines official.

Although the fine might be seen as small, I think her public image is becoming more & more on the nose. Something that sponsors will take action about.

She should be on her best behaviour. With Tiger's indiscretions and struggles, there are plenty of marketing opportunities for a strong black man.

Sounds like a penalty Golf Queensland would have handed out.

Actually, her probation ended after the semi final. She lasted a whole 6 games into the final before letting rip again.

Interesting that Stosur and Williams both have bigger shoulders than Federer, Nadal, Murray and Djokovic.

Tomic has another great win, this time against 15th ranked Wawrinka. It might be a bit too much to ask for Hewitt to beat Federer though for us to go 2 zip up.

It was. The World No. 199 tanked against the World No. 3.

Good effort. Considering the injury problems, he put up a good fight. He should be able to make top 30 again.

Wow! 2 rubbers to one up.

We only have to win one more. "only"? Ha!

Crucial doubles win. If we lost that we were massive odds, but now Hewitt has a good chance to defeat Wawrinka.

Pat Rafter to match referee "you're making up shit now".

How can he say two more games with light failing? Surely it is a time factor or a measurement of light is needed. Lunacy.

I looked up the Davis Cup rules. There were no references to bad light. The referee determines when play stops, so he was basically just being a wanker because he wanted tomorrow off.

Maybe he was just enjoying watching Hewitt lose?

It's not like he'd be the only one.

    I don't use the word unnecessarily, but that's un-Australian.

    Huge anti-climax.

It sucks that Australia have to go back to world group stages by losing to Switzerland, while Japan and Canada are through to the main event by beating tennis giants India and Israel.

What a capitulation by Hewitt. Report below from Fox Sports.
"Stanislas Wawrinka has wrapped up victory for Switzerland in the Davis Cup World Group qualifying play-off, needing just one game to secure victory when he and Lleyton Hewitt resumed on Monday morning

Wawrinka led 5-3 in the fifth and final set when bad light stopped play on Sunday, when constant debating with the match referee by Australia team captain Pat Rafter seemed to pay off.

Hewitt was clearly struggling as the sunshine faded at Royal Sydney Golf Club, going down a break early in the deciding set and heading towards the loss when the critical call was made by the officials.

And he proved unable to conjure a miracle on Monday, Wawrinka breaking the South Australian's serve to close out victory 4-6 6-4 6-7 6-4 6-3.

Wawrinka's victory concluded a remarkable comeback for Switzerland, given that teammate Roger Federer suggested the tie "was gone" after Australia won the doubles on Saturday to take a 2-1 advantage."

His knee was taped and he was clearly trying to make the points short, instead of running around a lot. He also double faulted twice.

A remarkable comeback is a bit over the top for a team with two top 20 players against a team with two players outside the top 50. The Australians surpassed my expectations for this tie. Both Hewitt and Tomic got a set off Federer, we won the doubles, and Tomic claimed another big scalp.

The inconsistency for Stosur continues. She just lost to Kirilenko in Rd 2 of Tokyo, after a bye in Rd 1.

Yes and if memory serves correct, she beat Kirilenko on the way to the US Open.

In 3 sets. Stosur had her, tightened up to let her back in, then had the longest tie break in open history, then won the 3rd. I didn't complain too loudly though, because extended the viewing time of Kirilenko.
