TTR was a cut and paste off Foxsports web I think, because I read his as well.

I loved the win. I was riding every point from the edge of my couch and had the volume up super loud to drown out four noisy kids. I was jumping up and down after she sealed it. A dominant display and she never let Serena find her groove.

It is a great win for her, after she had been written off as a one grand slam final wonder. Australian's women tennis is looking good at the moment, it's a shame that the men's and women's tennis strength can't sync.

Unrelated to the Stosur win, our Davis Cup side has to play a full strength Switzerland at Royal Sydney GC next week.

It's a great moment for our tennis for sure Andy. This could well be the turning point of Stosur's career. She's played well for ages now and can match it with anyone really. Good on various surfaces too. Her brother said he'd never seen her so strong as today.

Just, you are spot on with Lleyton and the pork chop carry on. Also with Serena's on court presentation speech. However my comment was directed at her mid-match performance. She is an awesome player if you disregard the whining, complaining and gamesmanship that goes on in a match she looks like losing.

(and you have to also take into account that according to her she NEVER complains.)

I'd imagine Federer will pull the pin on the Davis Cup now.

The Brisbane International tickets just got a bit hotter, since Stosur is playing there next year.

She can match it with anyone when she is at her best. It's those down periods where she seems to lose to almost anybody; more consistency is needed.

FWIW I think Hewitt is judged more on his composure on court from his teens than recent years, not that he is a saint.

I'm not sure why Venus Williams gets chucked in with Serena's behaviour. I can't recall instances of Venus Behaving Badly.

Be great to watch her live, all that power in such a compact package.

Hewitt mellowed as he went on but was overcompetitive and way over the top at various times. He was extremely lucky Blake rolled with him that time, EXTREMELY lucky. I've been told quite a few stories from junior tennis insiders regarding Leyton's parents back then and i have also witnessed his sister losing locally years back with mum in the stands. It was, eye opening shall we say.

Easy example - Australian Open about 4 or so years ago when she carried on at the umpire for being sanctioned over her hair beads spilling all over the court.

Venus isn't a patch on her. Sometimes didn't give much credit post losses but that's understandable at times.

I saw Stosur at the Brisbane International at the start of this year. She lost to Gadjasova in straight sets in a dismal display. It was very disappointing to watch. It's probably not the best tournament to watch, as the players just come off the only real break they have for the year.

Hewitt is definitely over the top. He didn't seem to settle as much as that Swiss guy that is about the same age as him.

Would you believe Bjorn Borg (the ice cool Swede) was a hothead in the juniors?

I think Stosur should be reasonably consistent from here. If she can go up another small step there will be some very good times ahead. She does have room for some improvement which is great.

    DavisCup Davis Cup

Good news for the Swiss! Roger Federer is expected to arrive in Sydney on Tuesday for the #DavisCup World Group playoff against Australia.
Djokovic is a set and a break up in the men's final over Nadal. What a year he is having!

On the match point replay wasn't sure what was bigger, Sam's forehand or Serena's butt.

Djokovic has gone into "I'm tired. I'm sore." mode.
What happened to not showing your opponent weakness?

I think its an act to try & break up his opponent's rhythm. He seems able to 'flick the switch' at will. He did so against Federer when faced with two match points.

He does it all the time.

Serena's press conference was "interesting". The media tried to make excuses for her loss, but she gave full credit to Stosur. The start of the conference was focussed on the umpire incident, which she attempted to deflect or couldn't recall.

$2,000 fine for Serena's umpire abuse. That'll teach her.
